Make Money with Wealthy Affiliate
How Do I Start Making Money with Wealthy Affiliate?
To all Starter members and beginners here at Wealthy Affiliate
If you’ve ever asked the question: “How do I start making money with Wealthy Affiliate?”
Here’s my simple and honest answer:
👉 Follow the step-by-step training.
👉 Build a website.
👉 Choose a topic/niche you like.
👉 Promote helpful products.
Let’s break that down a little more to help you take action today:
1. Start with the Free Training
Wealthy Affiliate offers beginner-friendly training in the Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC). This is your roadmap. Follow each lesson. Don’t skip around. The training will show you:
✅️ How affiliate marketing works
✅️ How to find your passion or interest (your niche)
✅️ How to create content and build trust
✅️ How to earn commissions from products you promote
🚀 Tip: Go through each lesson and complete the tasks at the end. Progress happens step by step.
2. Build Your Own Websit.
Yes, you can build your first website with just a few clicks inside Wealthy Affiliate. You don’t need to be tech-savvy.
Think of your website as your online shop. It’s where you’ll share useful content, reviews, and recommendations that help others and eventually earn you income.
🌱 Tip: Don’t wait until it’s perfect. Just get started and grow it over time.
3. Pick a Topic You Like (Your Niche)
Choose something you're interested in or enjoy talking about. It could be fitness, pets, parenting, travel, photography, or anything else.
When you enjoy your topic, it’s easier to stay motivated and create content that connects with people.
🎯 Tip: You don’t have to be an expert, just be willing to learn and help others.
4. Promote Products That Help People
This is where affiliate marketing comes in. Once your website is up and running, you can:
Join affiliate programs like Amazon, ShareASale, or even Wealthy Affiliate’s own program
Promote products or services related to your niche
Earn a commission when someone buys through your affiliate links
💡 Tip: Always recommend products that you truly believe will help your audience.
5. Stay Consistent and Don’t Give Up
Success won’t happen overnight. But if you keep learning, creating, and helping others, you’ll start seeing results. Some people make their first sale in a few weeks, others take a few months but it does work!
🔥 Bonus Tip: Engage with the WA community. Ask questions. Help others. Learn from those who’ve already walked the path.

Thanks for this, Paul. This is one of the clearest and most encouraging posts I’ve seen for beginners here at WA. You laid it out step-by-step without overcomplicating things — and that’s exactly what people need when they’re first starting out.
I’ve been building out my site over the past few months, and your advice lines up perfectly with what’s working for me: staying consistent, choosing a niche you care about, and building real trust with your readers. The key is doing a little every day — even when you’re not feeling it.
Also really appreciated Cali’s follow-up comment — that “mobile office” setup and mindset is next-level grit. Between the two of you, this post should be pinned for all newcomers.
Thanks again for the encouragement!

Hi, Mike
Thank you for this encouraging response. You're getting used to the system here and it looks like you've a brighter days ahead of you.
Keep it going at your own pace. I wish you success in your business endeavours here.
Paul.
First part is to realize we are all starting a business here at WA, this is not labor ready, here we do not work today and get paid today.
Second thing to realize is that we are all investing in ourselves, our future, and the future of our families. This is time well invested, energy well spent.
Third, create the time! We all have the same 24 hours in a day, figure it out. I record lessons and listen to it on my way to the 9 to 5 grind. Well, I work in live entertainment so some of those are 5 am in the morning, to maybe 2 am going home in one shift. So in the down time after stage is set, I have my mobil office, earbuds and headphones, I like to listen to books and feed my brain when doing neck down work, and I dig into one of my classes, I am learning a few different things at once and Wordpress is a must to learn, so is ChatGTP for me, but also Reaper DAW, Davinci video editor, and a few other courses.
I have portable keyboard with me always so I can write on my phone, i-Pad is set up with Logitech case so it is mini laptop and I always have one laptop with me. This mobil office did not happen overnight. I used to used one phone for everything, and that would kill my phone. Had same problem with laptop. With that in mind, when I picked up a big gig and got paid, I would pick up Laptop, next time, keyboard. I kept doing this and over time I have a fairly nice mobil office, sound studio, video editor set up, yada yada.
Fourth, stick with it always even when you do not feel like. You made a promise to yourself, keep it! Stop telling yourself your going to get something done or going, then let your mood talk you out of it. Dig in and keep digging! There are mental and financial diamonds and gold down there.
Thanks for the Post Paul, those are things I have learned over time in starting out here at WA and same with. my audio business, what I do at church with audio on Sundays. Dig in and don't give up!
WA works and you rock Paul.
SuperDavidScott.
Love the way you do things, Scott. Really inspiring! You are living by your name, SuperDavidScott.
Keep inspiring other and keep shining for the Lord.
Paul.

Hi Paul,
I wanted to personally thank you for your blog post “How Do I Start Making Money with Wealthy Affiliate?”. As someone just beginning my WA journey, your words felt like a compass—clear, grounded, and encouraging.
I’m currently building a site called Wealthland, aimed at empowering Papua New Guinea communities through affiliate education. Your roadmap helped simplify the first steps and reminded me that progress thrives in patience, not perfection. I especially appreciated your reminder that we don’t need to be experts—just honest learners who care about helping others.
If you're open to it, I’d love to learn more from your journey and maybe exchange ideas as I bring my vision to life. Your guidance carries real impact, and I hope to one day do the same for others.
Thank you again for leading with clarity and heart.
Warm regards,
Leo
