How to Make Money with Amazon’s Affiliate Program (Even as a Beginner)
The Amazon Associates Program is one of the easiest and most beginner-friendly affiliate programs available - especially for bloggers, YouTubers, influencers, and niche content creators.
Here’s a detailed information on how the Amazon Affiliate Program works, and how you can make real money promoting Amazon products.
How to Make Money with Amazon’s Affiliate Program
🛒 What Is Amazon Associates?
Amazon Associates is Amazon’s official affiliate marketing program. It allows you to earn a commission (usually 1–10%) when someone clicks your special affiliate link and makes a purchase, even if they buy something else during their shopping session!
You don’t need to own products, handle delivery, or manage payments. You just promote and earn.
💰 How You Make Money as an Amazon Associate
1. Sign Up for Free
- Go to: affiliate-program.amazon.com
- Create an account (Amazon verifies it manually)
- You’ll need to make 3 sales within 180 days to stay active
2. Choose Your Niche
Focus on a specific category or audience to make your content (and links) more effective.
Examples:
- Faith & Family (books, devotionals, journals)
- Home Office Setup (chairs, desks, gadgets)
- Blogging Tools (keyboards, monitors, tech accessories)
- Fitness (gear, water bottles, mats)
- Kitchen Tools
- Pet Lovers
- Budget Travel
3. Create Content Around Products
You earn by helping people find products. Do this through:
✅ Blog Posts- “10 Must-Have Tools for Christian Bloggers”
- “My Favorite Home Office Setup Under $100”
- “What Every Affiliate Beginner Needs from Amazon”
- Product reviews, comparisons, or tutorials
- Unboxings and “Amazon Hauls”
- “What I Use in My Work From Home Office”
- Instagram Reels or carousels: “Amazon finds that make affiliate blogging easier”
- TikToks: “Top 5 Amazon gadgets for beginner content creators”
- “Best Christian Planners for 2025” → Link to blog with Amazon affiliate links
- “Home Office Must-Haves” pin series
4. Add Your Affiliate Links Smartly
You can generate a unique link for any product you want to promote using Amazon’s SiteStripe (a tool at the top of your screen once you’re logged in).
Important: You must disclose affiliate links (e.g., “As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.”)
5. Optimize for Conversions
Tips to increase your earnings:
- Recommend only helpful, tested, or well-reviewed products
- Use comparison tables (tools like AAWP or Lasso)
- Create “gift guides” or “best of” lists
- Use clear CTAs: “Check today’s price on Amazon” or “Buy it here”

Loved this breakdown, Paul — so clear and beginner-friendly! 🙌 I’ve found that roundup posts and gift guides perform especially well in the pet niche. Curious — have you tested pairing Amazon with higher-ticket affiliate offers on the same blog? That’s been a nice combo for me lately!
Marija, thaks for your insightful comment. I appreciate it.
I haven't done the pairing. I would love to learn more from you.
Would you mind sharing some highlights with a few examples here?
Paul.
Thanks! 😊 I’ve started testing this combo recently—pairing Amazon links for everyday pet items with higher-ticket offers like The Farmer’s Dog or PawRamp.
No sales yet, but I’m seeing decent clicks, especially on roundup posts and senior dog care guides. I think it’s a promising mix: Amazon for volume, and the others for bigger commissions.
Happy to share updates as I go!
Sounds like you've a promising future with the combo affiliate marketing technique.
It would be wonderful to read and learn from your update soon.
Paul.
Yes, its easy. However, been 60 days still no sale and need 2 sales within 90 days like Current mentioned below. Don't get me wrong though great information. If have all over to do again, wait for genuine traffic to come site first with at least 20 plus articles published before signing up for Amazon Associates account.
Amazon is great however there's this catch, you have to sell something within a certain period of time or else your account is suspended.
Just sign up again using a new ID. I'm on my 4th one :)
I picked a tough niche... I'm working on monetization stuff now. I started posting a lot first. Now, I need newsletter subscribes.

My favourite tools are Canva, Pinterest, WA Content Writer and ChatGPT. One of my first niches was - ebook readers. Promoting and earning commissions from Amazon Affiliate program is fun.

Great post, Paul.
I wonder if this would work for a bookstore, reviewing other people's books.
