Do I need a plug in or did I miss a step in the training? Thanks
Hello,
If you dislike Google you can also use a different plugin called Clicky analytics. They meet the GDPR compliance, and are accepted by larger site brokers as an acceptable alternative to Google.

You need a plugin like Google Analytics, that's what I'm using. As with all plugins make sure it's compatible with your theme.

You need to install Google Analytics.
You can use the Ad Inserter plugin, as you do not want to edit your themes files directly as you will lose your changes when the theme updates or if you change your theme. How To Use The Ad Inserter Plugin How to insert code for Google Analytics
