Oops- My Post Ranked - Thanks to Good Keywords
Hey guys
Over the past few weeks I have been doing up a series of videos covering the WA Hub for my YouTube channel. This involved me creating a new niche website via the hub and then creating a video for each step of the "path to success".
Now, when I created the website, I was discussing niches and branding and actually led myself into creating a website on horse riding - which is an animal I:
- know nothing about
- have a slightly paralyzing fear of (can hold a snake, but can't go near a horse)
So anyway, as I had gone past the tipping point of having to shoot a whole lot of new videos if I changed it, I soldiered on. I did however make the note that I was going to make the site about horses for beginners - as that is definitely what I would be (If I would go near one of course).
I followed the Path To Success
As I ran through the videos, I started to find that working in a foreign niche actually made it a little easier for me to shoot, as I had to follow everything to letter because I didn't know what to write about.
Hence when it came to the sections on adding the first post etc., I had to really follow the suggestions of the hub to make it work.
And then the post ranked
So without sounding flippant, on the video I chose the first subject in the list and then let the WA AI write me the post. After that (and my rant about always using AI as a baseline and personalizing your content), I simply added a few headings, a graphic or two and the meta description information.
To my surprise, I received an email the very next day from WA telling me the post has ranked - sure it is not number 1, but it is there!
This is a new website, with one post.
So what got me there?
I believe that what got me there was the keywords. In the video, I explained that whilst the Hub gave me the content suggestion, I had to make sure the keywords matched. So I got my first suggestion: The 10 Most Popular Horse Breeds
And then plugged that into Jaaxy and added words " for beginners" to it:
And as you can see, simply changing the words "most popular" to "best", I have a much better set of keywords to work with. What does this mean?
Well, my post has ranked. And again, without sounding rude about it, I wasn't really looking at that too closely. Absolutely I made sure I did the basic SEO configurations and requirements on the page as part of the training video, but that was it.
So, for those of you using the hub, if you use the content suggestions, and place them through the keyword tools, chances are, you will start to rank as well!
Let me know below if you have any questions

Paul,
I enjoyed the post. I know that the training here works. And your creation of a totally foreign subject and getting it to rank is more proof.
I even more look forward to seeing the video that you are creating. I have been working my way toward that direction with my Amazing Niche Master persona.
For the new site that I am creating on Volksmarching, I have been working with images and screenshots.
My goal was to build from scratch and demonstrate the steps to success.
Great minds think alike.
