Wheels Within Wheels
I am new at this and found that whileI was creating my blog on a subject that I am not too familiar with I was messing up the placement of my articles.
I decided that I clearly needed some type of organization. I had found over time that if I put it on a piece of paper, I lost it. So I looked for a mind map type of program.
I have a Mac so it had to be compatible with a Mac. The first one that I tried was MindNode and then MindNode Pro (which I had to pay $19.00 for) These are simple but pretty programs. They work well but don't have much detail.
Then serendipity! Looking for something on YouTube I found a review of little program called XMind. XMind is FREE and is sufficient for most of us. There are more detailed versions but the free version is great once you learn how to use it. The program is at XMind.net. It is compatible with Unix, Mac, and Windows. Check it out.
The video is here.
Let me know what you think. How do you do the organization needed for your website? If you are doing the 30 day challenge, how do you organize the articles, keywords and due dates?

It is working for me as well. Now I can see not only what I want to write but also the keywords that go with each article. I am enjoying this little program a lot.
I have a file on my desktop "work for" then the "website " I am working on, works a bit like a spreadsheet but more hands on.
I create my info in word doc and save then when ready I upload to my site, that way none of my stuff goes missing! Always back up to a memory stick till posted as you can loose stuff if your computer crashes!
Hope that helps, your friend Bernie!
This is cool. I can see applications for my classroom as well. Thanks so much for sharing.
It is a handy litte program. I have mapped out what I am going to write about and then as I find the keywords for the article I am writing I add them on the next lines for each article. I would write my article before and then forget which keywords I used in the article. Now I have them.
I write my article is Google docs. you can write them in rapid writer you need to hit save continually in rapid writer. In Google docs is saves while you are writing. I'm sure you can put the date in the title so when you open Google the title and the date is there.
The Mind X looks like a great program. I use a Mac also.

Thanks - it's very good. Up to now I had used MIND42 but the functionality in Xmind is much more, great.
