I was fortunate because my process in arriving here went somewhat like this. I had a blog going for a year and a half about the process I went through in renovating an 1855 house on an island off the coast of Maine.
I hate to shop. So I have been a member of Amazon's Prime forever. i buy almost everything from them because they ship for free and it arrives on my doorstep in two days. Especially great if you live on an island. Here it arrives on my kitchen counter if I have gone out and left the door unlocked.
I thought i could monitize my blog. Not so easy as my buddy had given it a domain name and the site was essentially frozen. I could write but not add plug ins. Can't even back it up. I had joined Amazon Affiliates by this time. So I went looking for someplace to teach me what I needed to know. I did make the mistake of putting my phone number into one place. I closed the page before I went further but it was too late. Now I get calls from Blocked and Unknown every day. Can't change my phone number because it is part of my business.
I am kind of a private person sitting on this island with only 350 people in the winter. I also have lived in New York City, Florida, my boat in Maine and the Caribbean. I have been used to meeting people face to face. Don't get the wrong idea, I owned the Apple 2C and love gadgets. I may have been emailing before a lot of you were born.
So on with the story. I ended up here and eventually was told that I needed to get social, probably true. Now I get new followers every day on Twitter. Fabulous, you think. Ahhh, no. Now the shiny objects come to me!
