Blank Page After Updating

Wow! Has anyone ever had this happen? As I was updating one of my blog posts, it went to a blank page. Scary!

It seemed that no matter what I did to fix this, nothing worked. I looked up the situation with Google and it came up with multiple pages on how to fix the problem. As I worked my way through the pages on how to fix this, I found that it wasn't such an unusual problem.

All kinds of suggestions came up such as maybe a plug in problem, delete all plug ins and reinstall. Next was to restore the database on your blog. Yikes! Needless to say I wasn't going to do these things until I found a simpler solution to try first.

Finally I found an answer that seemed like a simple solution. Get rid of the spam. I found that I had 32 spam posts in the spam folder. I deleted all of them and guess what? Problem solved.

Now to fix a link from Google Search to my SEO article.

All these fix it's we go through. Some more than others. When it happened to me, you go in your preferences to have your spam and trash deleted automatically. Various intervals, mine every week. Also in Wordpress there is a plug in to filter spam. Once I finish my blog folder, will get mine out of my hold file. Once you are out there, sure will be more, so got to get the safeguards in place. Off to see your article. Glad you got your spam fixed.

Thank you for the comment

You are most welcome. Always enjoy your blogs. Now off to more WA work, another level to go. Hope to see you again soon.

Looking forward to it.

Crossing fingers..... Never experienced this. Glad you have it fixed!

I had this happen to me but I had to reduce my pictures. when I did that my page came back. WIERD!! huh ;O )

Apparently many different things can cause this problem. I had never had this happen before.

Only 32 spams created that problem? I wonder what problem I would have had because I had about 1200 spams, yes, 1200. What a time consumer it was to get rid of them. Take that as a warning, do not neglect your blogs months at a time.

Wow, I've never had this but I don't have many posts at this point in my evolution. But I'll keep this in mind if (when) this happens to me. Thanks

Kali

Thanks for the tip Patricia. I had the same problem before but it was plugin related

Some of the articles I read did say they had a plug in related issue

Good job, Patricia! Thanks for the tip. I'm sure it helps others who have had similar problems. This is what it's about, helping each other. :) Thanks for posting.
