How to Add Google Site Verification Meta Tag
Hello, this blog will give instructions for one of the ways you can add Google Site Verification Meta Tag to your WordPress site.
- Login to "Google Webmaster" and add your website
- Copy the ( "Verification Tag") that's given
- From the WordPress Dashboard
- Click on "Settings"
- Scroll down to "Google Site Verification"
- From "Google Site Verification Meta Tag Settings" page
- Paste the "copied" tag from the " Webmaster" Page into the box provided
- Click "Save Changes"
- You're done!
- I forgot to add this important addition to this blog.
- Keep in mind that when you add any code to the <head> section of your Theme.
- When you update the Theme, you'll have to add it again to the new Theme.
- What I do is copy the codes and paste them on a note pad or into a Words Document and save them on my Desktop or wherever you want to save them.
- This will save you a lot of time from having to go back to Web Master or Google's sites to find the codes again.
- I hope this will make things a lot clearer for you going forward.
- Take care all.

why can't I find the Google site verification in my settings?
I can't seem to verify any site!
Hi Prince. Thank you for all of your help earlier. I corrected most of the concerns and am learning how some of the technology works. Have a great day.
I don't want to act as "I know it all", but I don't mind helping members when I can and have confident that I am giving the correct advice.
My site will not verify. Plugin is activated. I attempted to confirm using my browser http://windowsregistrykeys.com/googlexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.html. or just click verify. It takes me to my site, but it states not found and a search button is displayed. I click search then my front page displays. Do you have any idea what might be the issue?
Hello Wharper, do u know how to add the code in the Head Section of your website? Are u using the All in one SEO Plugin? If you are, get the code, go to SEO general Setting, stroll down to where you will see the google site verification box and paste the code in, then "update". I am on my Blackberry now at work. Send me a PM, if you need more help.
Thank you for the prompt reply. It is worrisome to me. I've located the field in the SEO, but on way to work. Will try later and let you know how it works out. Have a good day!
Hello Wharper, I went over some of my old messages. I missed this reply, I am glad it's working for you.
Hi P....this could qualify as a dumb question....which page is the home page on your site? I must've missed this step somewhere....I just missed you in Live Chat awhile ago....unfortunate, huh?
Thanks for any info.

My theme shows no Google Site Verification choice under "Settings"....any hints on what to do now?
Thanks,
Suz
Go to WP Dashboard, install and activate "XML Sitemap". Go to setting and select it at the bottom of the list. Now you should see that it will be submitted toh Search Engines like Google and Bing.
When you write more post/pages, go back to this page and select "rebuild manually", this will update the sitemap. I hope this will help you.
Sorry, I've been missing this option to post within WA. I will be writing more blogs in the future to share anything that may be of help to someone. Take care.

Great Tip Thanks - A small point - Go to your Google Webmaster tools choose the alternate method. Then copy just the letters in the code they give you which will look like this - <meta name="google-site-verification" content="huyXuTri9iF7SjzADJm_pheJ5ezqKGHULV2y4EME" /> only copy the bit after the = and between (and not including) the quotation marks into your All IN ONE SEO plug- in see pic - Thanks again Pas1745
