In the world of Internet Marketing it seems like a world of copycats. Lots of “wannabes” mimicking a handful of internet marketing super stars.

There is certainly a lot of useful tips and tricks to be learned from these highly successful people.

But are we doing this at the expense of discovering something entirely new? The dreaded “groupthink” syndrome!

We have our own unique brand to offer.

Deliberately do something different each and every day. Do something off the wall or outside of your comfort zone.

Some of the most successful people out there seem to have an eccentric streak that makes them look sort of weird. They seem to be the ones the rest of the “normal” world points their finger at. People make false assumptions about these people, overlooking the potential they are cultivating within. They’ve judged the book by its cover and moved on to something else.

Part of becoming super successful is to challenge what you’re comfortable with. To shake up the status-quo. Don’t let yourself fall into a rut. As Earl Nightingale said: “A rut, we are reminded, is nothing more than a grave with the ends kicked out.”. Good words for thought!

These traits that make us different are what define our own unique brand. When we establish our own brand, we attract our own unique audience. You could even be in a highly competitive niche, but because you have such a unique angle, you attract people who identify with you.

These folks will spread the word of mouth about this “unusual individual” who is so interesting to do business with.

When was the last time you did something out of the ordinary and you discovered something new?

When we do something different, we stimulate our brains in different ways and literally open up new circuits. We find that when we return to doing things the way we had always done it, we wonder why we didn’t think of some thing better sooner!

We often will have failures while exploring new paths and ways of doing things. Failures is how we learn! Every failure is one step closer to the big breakthrough!

Thomas Alva Edison had more failures than you can shake a stick at, yet it only the “successes”, and ver bigs ones mind you, that you hear about.

Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame had his fried chicken seasoning recipe rejected more than a thousand times before someone who had faith in it accepted it and wanted to try it as a business.

Read some biographies about these people, they are interesting stories.

How many times are you experiencing a “failure”? Do you give up? Do you pick up the pieces, dust yourself off and try again with a different approach.

When it comes to an online marketing business it can pay to be adventurous, to dare to try something different. Myself, when writing articles for my blog, I don’t look at others. I just start by putting the pen to paper, or the digital equivalent thereof, and let my mind flow! It may look good, it may be gibberish. It’s not important for now. The act of moving continuously stimulate new ideas to come up.

We were meant to be in motion! We should never sit idle. Keep moving and you’ll find paths less travelled and even discover new routes. It’s the juice that keeps the creative process going. It’s been observed that a busy mind is a healthier mind - mentally, physically and spiritually.
