Non-Traditional Is GOOD!

So last night, I went to bed thinking I'd made a mistake. My life has been overwhelmed with a bit of misfortune. My beloved truck was repossessed on Thursday. We're currently without a vehicle (as you can imagine, that makes life with three kids very difficult) and my husband has been working overtime so we can be able to make ends meet.

My old thinking habits got the better of me as I lay in bed trying to fall asleep. I kept thinking "I need to be looking for something else! What have I done?! Something more traditional!" I told myself I would wake up today and pull out of WA for good.

But when I woke up this morning and thought more about it, I realized the truth.

I've NEVER done things traditionally!

My parents wanted me to go to business school. I became a paramedic instead. A job I did on and off for over 10 years.

They wanted me to marry someone locally. I met a soldier deployed in Iraq online and we were married 6 months later.

I gave up my career twice for my boys. Something that women in my family do not do.

And now that I'm done with EMS for good, I need something more flexible that allows me to be home with my kids while providing for them. Obviously without a car I can't hold a traditional job anyways lol. Looking back, I've never taken the path expected to succeed and survive. Why would now be any different?

It's not. I'm doing what I've always done: doing whatever it takes to survive. And with this renewewd sense of motivation and inspiration, I'm back at it and doing more training.
