The Starter Membership - Reflections on the Free Trial Period

I began my Wealthy Affiliate journey just 6 days ago & today I chose to become an official part of this community by upgrading to the premium membership. As someone who finds "dabbling" in website design & content writing fun, it has long been a far-off dream of mine to find a legitimate way to earn a living as a "blogger" or "affiliate marketer." The problem is, I spent years running into scams, "systems," & otherwise time & money-wasting promises to get me there.

Within the Wealthy Affiliate community, everything was shiny & new to someone like me who, despite my aspirations, had no prior knowledge of SEO, keywords, or ranking in search engines. I wasted a few days playing around with the website buildout & got off track before I realized that the point of me coming on for this free trial was to LEARN! My ultimate goal was to gain the knowledge that no other "system," "coach," or "community" had offered me thus far. I had set out on this journey with Wealthy Affiliate to once & for all find out how to make this happen - how affiliate marketing works, how to set up a website, how to fill it with content, & how to earn money doing so. And that is exactly what Wealthy Affiliate pledged to teach me, even as a free starter member.

6 days later, I give the free starter membership an A+ rating. This platform & the courses are absolutely remarkable & demonstrate this community's incredible value. The founders & developers absolutely nailed the content & the timing. Upgrading to the premium membership at this exact time felt like the natural thing to do. There wasn't so much content that I felt overwhelmed or lost in the details. I have accomplished everything that Kyle & the courses assured me that I could, including setting up & building out my website, choosing my niche, & building my knowledge & experience with SEO. I could literally take the training & skills that I have received from the free training at Wealthy Affiliate & charge a fee for my services.

So today, on day 6 of my Wealthy Affiliate journey, I am pleased to reflect on what I have accomplished in just a few days, by simply showing up & receiving knowledge. And not only knowledge from the course content, but from the other community members that I have come into contact with.

The best piece of advice I ever received was to surround yourself with people who are already where you want to be. And at WA, when you step in as a free starter member, you do exactly that. I'm astounded by just how much knowledge & wisdom is shared between the members of this community - great tips & tricks of the trade as well as cautionary tales to help others learn from their own mistakes - preventing others from things that waste their valuable time & effort. I like that it's a community & not a place of competitiveness. We are all in this to learn, grow, & succeed, & there's more than enough internet pie out there for anyone & everyone.

The value of the premium membership here at Wealthy Affiliate has been demonstrated to me many times over in the wealth of valuable knowledge & skills that I gained during my time as a free, starter member. Upgrading just felt like the natural thing to do on the roadmap to my goal. I feel that WA has equipped to continue what I've begun, & now, as a premium member, having unlimited use of all of the tools - and with new, additional features at my disposal, I'm motivated for what comes next. Onward!
