Google Page Insights. It is not to be entirely trusted
Page speed insights. It helps but it isn't ultimately completely reliable and will fluctuate.
Use the Google page speed insight to help improve your site but not everything flagged can be fixed and not everything is super critical.
My A2Z Tech Fix a2ztechfix.com website had some issues with large images. Fixed with Kraken.io but it flags some stuff that is part of the theme as false positives and complains about the Google map in my footer as a false positive.
It fluctuates the rating from 50-80 continuous in mobile and 60-90+ in desktop and I think that may be from the caching SiteSpeed. It's weird. Either way the page loads just fine in both platforms without issues.
I also question it's performance because sites that have themes and their ratings that show 8-90's... Google Page speed insight gives the demo a score last night a score that we up to 40 points lower.
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and let them know what I found.

I agree, simply put Google is goofy, do your best to get rated and watch your speeds as best you can and then just go have a good drink.
This is interesting info. Thank you for sharing it. I usually don't put a lot of trust in page speed because if it loads up quickly on my clunker of a machine or my phone, I feel confident that it will load at least that fast on other machines. Maybe I need to pay more attention to this as I have noticed that my mobile speeds are down... Hmmm...

Thank you for sharing Matthew. I don't entirely trust anything from Google, I think of it more as guidance.
Too many times I have had Google Console say there is a problem with a site. At first I would spend hours trying to find what it was and how to fix it. In the end I would often just click validate fix and it would then say everything was fine. Now I click that first before doing anything and usually that is enough to fix it,

Great info and thanks for sharing this. I was breaking my head over page insights score and was even thinking to change my theme. Now I think I am just doing fine and will stick with what I have. I range 50-60 on mobile and 80-90 on desktop. I think it is just fine and I will continue without looking back ! :) Thanks a lot. A great help!
