Why I decided to go Premium

I used to watch a lot of YouTube and wonder how all those guys did it. They had videos uploaded often, sometimes daily! I quickly learned that is what they do, and they get paid! I thought that was crazy, how do they get paid just doing stuff they love on YouTube! There has to be a way I can do this too.

Well, I created a YouTube channel and started to upload some videos, but got no traffic... =(

I was sad, some videos had less than 10 views. I was not getting any traffic. But I kept at it. I kept uploading videos, hoping the next one would be a big hit. And still, nothing....

I knew there had to be a different way. A different way to put my content out there for everyone to see.

One day I was in class, and I was talking about video games to a classmate. This other guy walks in and overhears us. Then he asks me if I blog. Of course, I had a blog, but only a few posts. It was no fun blogging if nobody reads it. Well, this guy was persistent, he had the ultimate answer. He wanted me to go to his blog, and see what he does. He apparently makes several hundred dollars each month just from writing blogs. Well, I've seen all that before: make money online now. And I know a lot of them are scams, so I did some research. The one he uses is on a Multi-Level Marketing plan, MLM or pyramid scheme(scam). You sign up under somebody, pay a monthly fee and the person above you gets a cut. We've all heard of them. I am not somebody who follows that, I tried it before and I was not good at it.

So I did my own research. There had to be other ways out there to get my name out there and make money online.

That's when I came across Wealthy Affiliate.

WA did not appear to be an MLM, but was something that taught how and provide tools to get your name out there. So I signed up for the free trial. I completed the first lessons and made a site! And so far, everything else seems very promising!

I understand these things take work. I have been making YouTube videos for a while now, I have 84 videos and I have ideas for more. So I plan to link the two. I'll use my site to blog about video games and link them to my YouTube channel.

I'm going to try to work on it every day, even if its just a little bit. And we'll see how far this goes. I'll come back here in a month and post a progress report. I don't know if I'll be making money, but at the very least I'd like to increase traffic to my site and YouTube channels.

One of the other things that really motivated me is the community at WA. I haven't even been a member for a whole week yet and I already have over 50 followers! Everybody has left me positive feedback and shows some really strong motivation!
