12/4/14: Ok, I got a response back from tech support today. They informed me that there is no other way to contact tech support other than with a ticket, but be assured that response to tickets will be swift. Hmmmm.... maybe. I will have to wait until my next few support tickets to make a judgement.

Specifically in response to my question about moving hosting, wa said that they could move a couple of Wordpress sites for me, but that I would be responsible for moving all the rest. I'm OK with that -- it's not really a big issue. I was just looking for the "best" way to do it, and based off of other forum posts I had the impression that tech support was the best route.

Anyway, via the support ticket chat I also found out that wa does not support modifying the DNS MX records or srv records. That mean that the sites I use where I have email hosted elsewhere (e.g. Office 365 or gmail) can not continue to have mails services provided by those services if I were to move my sites to wa. In addition, wa does not support off site DNS where the A record points back to the hosting. Effectively, that means I can't host my main sites on wa -- I can only host sites that have local email services.

12/4/14: Yesterday I sent a pm to Carson inquiring about the slow tech response to my tech support ticket. As of this morning I still have not received any response to the ticket. Now it is a day and a half with no response; and no other way to contact tech support. I'm stuck and can't move forward with my plan to move to wa and it throws serious doubt on wa being a suitable place for production web sites.

12/3/14: I haven't moved any of my sites over to wa yet as I'm taking this migration a little cautiously. I submitted a support ticket to tech support yesterday with a question (it wasn't a critical ticket.) As of this morning it has been over 16 hours and I have not received a response on the ticket. This is really a bad mark against wa in my book. What if this was a critical ticket. What if one of my sites was having problems and needed backend support? There is no phone number for support that I know of and no way to get hold of them other than through the ticketing system.

11/28/14: I signed up for wa with two objectives in mind.

  1. See if the training provided on wa would be sufficient to provide 80% of the training and information I want as an web marketer.
  2. Determine if wa hosting can replace the hosting I have at GoDaddy, Hostgator, and others.
