Tracking my experience with Wealthy Affiliate
12/4/14: Ok, I got a response back from tech support today. They informed me that there is no other way to contact tech support other than with a ticket, but be assured that response to tickets will be swift. Hmmmm.... maybe. I will have to wait until my next few support tickets to make a judgement.
Specifically in response to my question about moving hosting, wa said that they could move a couple of Wordpress sites for me, but that I would be responsible for moving all the rest. I'm OK with that -- it's not really a big issue. I was just looking for the "best" way to do it, and based off of other forum posts I had the impression that tech support was the best route.
Anyway, via the support ticket chat I also found out that wa does not support modifying the DNS MX records or srv records. That mean that the sites I use where I have email hosted elsewhere (e.g. Office 365 or gmail) can not continue to have mails services provided by those services if I were to move my sites to wa. In addition, wa does not support off site DNS where the A record points back to the hosting. Effectively, that means I can't host my main sites on wa -- I can only host sites that have local email services.
12/4/14: Yesterday I sent a pm to Carson inquiring about the slow tech response to my tech support ticket. As of this morning I still have not received any response to the ticket. Now it is a day and a half with no response; and no other way to contact tech support. I'm stuck and can't move forward with my plan to move to wa and it throws serious doubt on wa being a suitable place for production web sites.
12/3/14: I haven't moved any of my sites over to wa yet as I'm taking this migration a little cautiously. I submitted a support ticket to tech support yesterday with a question (it wasn't a critical ticket.) As of this morning it has been over 16 hours and I have not received a response on the ticket. This is really a bad mark against wa in my book. What if this was a critical ticket. What if one of my sites was having problems and needed backend support? There is no phone number for support that I know of and no way to get hold of them other than through the ticketing system.
11/28/14: I signed up for wa with two objectives in mind.
- See if the training provided on wa would be sufficient to provide 80% of the training and information I want as an web marketer.
- Determine if wa hosting can replace the hosting I have at GoDaddy, Hostgator, and others.

Hello NormsIM,
I don't intend for this to be hateful or rude.
I know from your previous post that you have multiple sites.
I also know that there are many of us that are struggling to
learn how to have even one.
Please don't keep throwing negative fuel on the fire because you
are not helping any of us or yourself by doing so.
I hope (and I'm sure everyone else here does also) that you will get
an answer that will help you in your efforts that you are striving for.
Kyle and Carson will try and help you if you let them.
Anymore negative posts and I will be thinking that maybe this community and you will be better off if you choose another route
instead of Wealthy Affiliates which is basically what you are threatening.
You can make a choice to be a part of this good community and profit
a hundred fold with your many talents I'm sure.
If you will do that we will all be better off as a result of it I believe.
I am speaking as one that has made a multitude of mistakes in my life
and I know I will make others. We all sin and fall short.
We also have an option to make amends and press forward if we do not continue in those things that hold us back.
If you feel I have wronged you by this response, I ask for your forgiveness because that is not what this is all about.
I look forward to seeing this work out soon for you and I'm sure that will be the end result.
I also look forward to you accepting me as your friend. When I click this green "Follow Me" button to my right, I want you to know that is a statement to you and everyone here that I consider you as a Friend and I want to be a Friend of yours.
I wish you the best.
A Friend,
James
Hey James,
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. My posts on my blog are not meant to be "negative"... they are simply my way of documenting what my personal experience is with wa. Think of it as a record journal to document what is happening on my own personal blog.
Now, it would be totally different if I were cruising the wa site and posting negative comments on other peoples blogs, etc. But that's not what is happening.
And while being negative is not good, Pollyannish is not good either. Waiting close to two days for a support ticket response and documenting that is not being negative. It is simply recording some facts that may need to be referred to later. And possibly in a way to help improve wa. For example, there may have been a breakdown in the process and Carson / Kyle may want to investigate what happened in order for it not to happen again.
Thanks again for the comment.

Hello Norm,
I appreciate your getting back in touch and first of all "Forgive Me" and let me truly apologize for looking at what you posted as being on the negative side.
You told me that your post was as a record journal to document what is happening on your personal blog and it would be totally different if you were cruising the WA site and posting negative comments on other peoples blogs.
I apologize for not being wise enough to see it at the time in that light and I do appreciate you responding back as you have.
You also said there may have been a breakdown in the process and Carson / Kyle may want to investigate what happened in order for it not to happen again.
That crossed my mind after I had clicked on the reply button and I was thinking that may be the reason for the delay. I know that not getting a reply back at all can really be discouraging.
I am really new here and of no value at all to the community when it comes to helping because I don't even know what to do myself at this point.
I will have to say this, From the get go, Both Kyle and Carson both have been there for me as have several others, including YOU!.
I am still hopeful that it want be long until you get things resolved and maybe by this time you have. That would be Great!.
I just feel I guess that If you are positive, you can deal with setbacks better since you feel that things will get better.
I know there are many with WA that are having a tough time right now and my hope is that there is a way here that they can and will make it.
You have helped me in a big way here today and I want to thank you for it.
Again, I want you to Forgive Me for any wrong thoughts I may have had in your intentions.
I just hope things work out to where you are on board and SOON!
You can be a Big Help to many of us here and it will come back to you
in some way that will be beneficial for you.
Please consider that before you throw us to the wind.
Thanks a lot and Goodnight for now,
A Friend,
James
