copyscape.com provides duplicate content checking with sites outside your own. The same company also offers siteliner.com which evaluates duplicate content within your own site.
It also does comparisons with other sites giving you feedback on your sites average page size, average page load time, number of words per page, text to HTML ratio, internal and external links per page, total links per page, and inbound links per page.
The site feels a little bit new, and I'm not sure they have all the kinks worked out, but it is an interesting frame of reference and potential tool.
