I'm an Official Author

MY FIRST BOOK IS GETTING PUBLISHED, AND I'VE ACQUIRED A BOOK CONTRACT!

I can't believe what I'm about to tell you all. I received a call about an hour ago from a publishing company telling me they want me book contract with them! It's my very first non-fiction book about my marriage (Go Figure). Anyway, it talks about the ups and the downs and how I coped with the verbal abuse and just stayed respectful throughout every argument. There are a lot of coping strategies I mention in the book, but that's besides the point.

I'm a freaking author. How cool is that? Now, I do have a request or favor to ask anyone that is also an author and has signed a book contract. Is there anyone of you that can come forward and inbox me? The guy said he will be sending the contract to my email tomorrow, and I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off based on my professional book I wrote. I have no clue whatsoever what to look for and what is fair and not fair. All that I know is that this publishing company does all of the editing and formatting for free, and they also print and help sell the book. I just receive 70% of the sales from all stores and websites they are dispersed to. Does that seem fair?

Anyway, what I had planned on doing was to forward the book contract to you, and you could check to see if the criteria was fair and appropriate. I feel that they are going to be very professional, but if I were the guy writing the contract to a brand new author, I'd probably take advantage of that person to teach them a lesson which is why I'm asking for professional help from some of my professional affiliates on this website.
