Does MUSIC improve your productivity?
Don't you just love it when you're feeling creative and you have your music of choice blasting in the background?
,My poor neighbours lol
They will be okay. This is not an everyday occurrence.
But seriously, what else do you do when you're feeling so alive and you have ideas and scenarios bursting out of your ears?
I definitely have to get up and work with the beat of the music.
So, I started feeling this creative energy late last night and I almost didn't wait until the morning to start my project.
But I restrained myself and went to sleep.
And today, I am digging into the middle of a mini workbook which I am aiming to complete before the end of day.
From time to time, I have to research and ensure that everything that I am doing is aligning with my target audience and after my questions to my Facebook group, I realised that I needed to make some changes.
So, here I am writing and moving to the music as I try to keep up with the ideas that are coming from brainstorming.
Until next time,
Simone

Good morning Simone,
Thank you for another blog post, it's appreciated.
There was a time when I would always have music on when I was younger. However, more often than not, I find myself listening to Christian teaching, documentaries etc., more than music. I still listen to music, but nothing like I used to. I also quite like the peace and quiet!
I think I must be getting old as sometimes, when I go onto sites, I see tradesmen with their music blaring out! Quite honestly, I really wouldn't like to listen to that terrible racket that they are listening to! I would sooner hear the engine running on the machine that I'm using!
I remember as a teenager and in my early 20s listening to radio one, knowing that I would never ever move to radio two! That was for old people! How wrong I was! I must admit that I don't listen to the radio much now, I tend to listen to music from YouTube.
I do occasionally listen to music through my headset; in this way, I can also use Dragon NaturallySpeaking at the same time! However, for maximum focus and concentration, I need to be quiet and in the room alone with no disturbances!
Wishing you a great day and hope you enjoy the music!
Roy
Good morning Roy
Don't you ever have Christian music blasting out?
When you are extra focused, a quiet atmosphere is certainly needed
Good morning Simone,
Do you know, I used to, but I don't seem to so much now, and I don't know why! I find myself listening to actual Christian messages rather than music! But maybe thinking about it, I ought to get in the habit of listening to more Christian music again! As I do really enjoy it! I'm going to put some music on right now as I reply to my Wealthy Affiliate messages etc.!
I can listen through my headset and still use Dragon NaturallySpeaking at the same time!
Yes, I agree there are times when we need to be extra focused!
Have a great day.
Roy
PS: I have started! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG7v8jJKAOk
I'm just thinking that you must be bobbing your head now while listening to the music.
Sometimes we can worship God by just purely singing. That's another form of praising him
Lol!!ππ The headset would probably fall off, it's not a particularly tightfitting headset!ππ
That's very true, it can bring us into the presence of God, even my singing!
Roy
Indeed!!
That's very true, it is giving thanks to God and changes our mindset!
To be fair, I already feel better! Thank you for the excellent idea!
Roy
Thank you, Simone!
I fly off to sunny Greece for a few days this evening!
Have a good day.
Roy
Thank you, Simone!
It won't be really warm there, I think up to about 20Β° C, but it will be sunny. In another few weeks, it will be more like our summer!
The photograph below was taken last June. We can take the boat to Thessaloniki from where my wife comes from, it takes about an hour. It's great fun on a summer's day! You see the famous white tower, that isn't white!
It's a great way to get into the centre of the city, it's much nicer than going by car! Even though I have been going to Greece for many years, I still can't believe how blue and clear their seas are!
Roy
Well, Simone... I've been a musician most of my life. Playing various stringed instruments and gigging professionally for many years.
However, when writing I find music distracting. I find myself daydreaming as I play along in my head. So playing music doesn't help me concentrate on anything other than the music itself.
I find some music great for relaxing and practicing mindfulness though!
:-)
Richard
Richard, thank you for that information.
I didn't know that you are a musician. Do you sing as well?
What type of music do you like?
It depends on how deep is my concentration. If it is very intense, then yes, I want nothing but silence ;)
I like all kinds of music. As a gigging musician I used to play violin, mandolin and guitar, mainly playing folk and folk/rock. I did sing a bit but singing was never my strength.
:-)
Richard
Wow!
That's a great talent,
Richard
I have a musical family, although I am not a part of it , apart from loving music
Ok... I admit I've had 3 husbands. The 3rd one I've kept for 31 years :)
All 3 were musicians. 2 actually played music to audiences (1st and 3rd). Both of them didn't/don't like music when they worked. Same - can't concentrate...
So I can see your point, lol!
Teri
3 husbands?
All musicians?
Wow!
That household must have been very happy indeed
Anyone of them singers?
My 1st husband did. He had a degree in Music from FSU. He was a drummer, but Pablo Casals pointed him out in a class - he said you - you have perfect pitch. That was so cool to me.
He had a band when I met him called Methuselah's Children. Name derived from the fact that most band members were older, and some went to Vietnam which messed up any music careers then.
So much more happened to him to list here!
Teri
I wish there was a way that I can multitask with both of these things but the music itself just makes it so good that I can't concentrate so I tend to write in silence and then get the music going afterwards. ;)
Myra
You're a rock chick lol
I like country western, mainly Kenny Rogers, R&B, Gospel, and Caribbean calypso π
Yep I am! ππ
Country western and R&B sounds good and Kenny Rogers sounds really good.
Those are really good choices, Simone! Thanks for sharing it with me. :)
Myra
Hi, Simone
I think you already know what my answer will be!
Music awakens my soul and supercharges my thinking. I studied my way through school with music at my side.
It's as essential to me as oxygen! Music helps preside over the formation of ATP from ADP in the Krebs Cycle of my mitochondria to keep me on the aerobic side of life! Haha!
If I'm not listening to music, then I'm most likely playing a guitar or doing both.
I've disturbed plenty of neighbors with music in my days of garage bands and apartment living. Now we live in a home surrounded by plenty of land to protect others from the crazy sounds coming from our home theater and music studio.
I enjoy listening to Opera most, but always make my way to Jazz, Rock, Blues, Metal, Country, R&B, Soul, and everything else available!
I can't even imagine a day without music! π
Rock On! π€
Frank πΈ
Wow!
Mr Music man!
I expected nothing else from you
And you do know I feel the same
Let's talk about the mood and how music enriches the mood, and gives extra ideas in whatever you're doing
It should be a crime for anyone to not like music ππ
Hi, Simone
Yes, I realize how important music is to you and your family! π
Music is my addiction, and a guitar is like my bartender; haha! If I'm in a bad mood, music just melts it away. It's the creative driving force behind everything I do!
Rock On! π€
Frank πΈ
Yes, yes, yes
I second that Frank
If ever I'm in a bad mood, just put on some music and watch it disappears.
We have a common factor , Frank - music

Iβm a huge lover of music and there isnβt a day that goes by that Iβm not listening to a tune. Sometimes I will switch off all sounds if there is something that I have to really concentrate on but my day always starts with music at home and then in the car on my way to clients :-)
That's the way to do it, music girl
