Hi NBillups,

I took a quick look at your site and have some suggestions.

First, I like the overall theme and colors selected for your site. Excellent.

Second, Add a "Contact Us" page and place links at the bottom of the pages where you want visitors to go if they want to comment. Remove the contact form on the home page.

Third, Change "Home Page" to "Home" on the menu. You don't have to say home page. All online users know what home is. Also, move Home to the first position on the menu.

To accomplish this, do the following:
1). In the left panel in the dashboard, click on "Appearance".
2). Select "Menus"
3). This opens up the menu dashboard.
4). Find the Home Page menu item in your list.
5). Click on the down button to the right of "page" to open up the title attribute and navigation label section. In the navigation label section remove page.
6). Click on save.
7). With the mouse, click on the item with the left mouse button and hold it to move it to the top, then release.
8). Click save.
Your done.

Fourth, remove the calendar from the widgets area. This is not needed.

Fifth, I would add a sociable icons at the bottom of the page. You can do this by adding a plugin called "Sociable". Select the ones you want to show on your web pages.

Sixth, Be sure to have more content on the home page. You need at least 500 words or more to describe what your website is about. You want the visitors to click on something and go somewhere. You need to determine where you want them to go.

Remember, content is king on the search engines. You have an excellent topic or niche in which to tell others about.

You have a great start. I hope these suggestions were helpful.

Best of luck in becoming an excellent online marketer.

George

Thanks for the help. Content is hard for me to write but I will keep trying. I've been trying to figure out how to one now. I've also taken out the calendar. It was too big. I tried to find the sociable plug in but haven't found it. Is it listed with the plug ins on the dashboard or do I get on some other website?

You might consider setting your blogroll as your front page display, instead of your static home page. That way when visitors arrive at your site they will see new content with your posts.
.
To do this, in WP go to Settings >General> Reading.

At the top you will see the option to make your "Posts" display as the the front page.

Later you can switch back to a static home page. The risk with a minimal home page is that the visitor will leave the site too quickly. If they see your blog posts, they are more likely to engage with the site and so stay there longer, which is good for ranking.

Thanks for the feedback. Everyone is so helpful and I definitely need help.

Nina. Your site looks very nice. I look forward to seeing what you've got in store for us.

I noticed that the URL extension for your blog is spelled "blob" - is that your intention? Maybe you meant "blog".

You might like to add a gravatar so that your pic as the site admin shows up in the comments section. Here's training for how to do that.

It's a great start. Keep going. ~Jude

Oops. No it's supposed to be blog. I guess I better fix that. Not sure what a gravatar is but I will check it out. Thanks a lot for the feedback.
