Tackling the Goals
As I move through the WA training at a seemingly snails pace I have to remind myself of a few things. First, I have spent the last month altering around 25 prom dresses plus regular sewing alterations. (For those of you who have read my profile, I am a seamstress). Second, I also work a part-time 'day job'. Plus, I have two teens at home and a college student preparing to move home. Nope, not busy . . . not at all.
I left off my WA Certification Course off at the point where we were instructed to write down some short-term non-financial goals. I can only assume this will help us focus on content and personal development which will make us better bloggers which would then help us make our financial goals.
My non-financial goals look like the following:
Non-Financial Goals
The next 10 days.
- To be caught up on all my sewing customer projects.
- Write 5 Reviews for nannelson.com (I have the products chosen)
- Write 3 posts for Part-Time Proprietor (I have two topics in mind)
- Write 2 posts for Nelson Sewing (no ideas yet)
- Plant seedlings (done)
- Plant garden (done)
The next 30 days.
- Make Leann’s Prom Dress
- Prepare room for Brian (this is started)
- Move Brian Home
- Clean my house top to bottom.
- Complete the Level 1-5 training at WA
- Catch up all bookkeeping
- Hold a garage sale
The next 6 months.
- Complete the WA training and fully develop all my sites to make money
- Develop and sell patterns for sewing sites
- Develop and complete online sewing course
- Install new flooring in the house
The next year.
- Develop my own products for each of my websites
- Write my book
- Have a fabulous Christmas
- Learn graphic design
As you can see I was able to cross off two of my six ten day goals over this weekend. This was possible only because my sister came to visit for the weekend and she LOVES to dig in the dirt. The garden is really my daughter's project so it was great niece / aunt bonding time. I only have one sister, we are super close in age, so we are super close as sisters. I was also able to clean out my flower beds which was not on the list. Saturday was such a cool beautiful day I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a few things done outside.
We also progressed on preparing a room for my college age son who will be coming home in May. Two years ago I wasted no time in packing his things into storage when he went away to school. He is going to live at home and work full-time for a year to pay off his student loans and save money for a down payment on a house rather than pay rent to someone else. I am excited for him and proud of this adult decision he has made.
So, over the next week or so I am going to tackle those ten day goals. Today after I get off work I am going complete number one on the list. Even if I have to stay up very late to do it.
I think I will keep you guys posted every few days so I feel like I am being accountable to someone to complete these goals. Thanks so much.
Have a wonderfully fabulous day!
Nancy

It was worse when my oldest was home. He was so full of drama...hmm I wonder if that is why he went on to study Film Making?
