Thanks for the encouragement. If you want to get a kitten I think a Maine Coon cat is a very good choice. They are #2 cat in the USA but should be #1 because they are by far easier and friendlier than #1 Persian. If you have friends offering it's perfect. You could look over their kittens and you'll either find one you bond with or not.

Your mom has good taste. They are # 2 cat breed in the US, but I like them better than Persians who are # 1.

i've been reading up on self-importance in the Casteneda book. So far it's unique and interesting.

Glad to here you're getting some time in on Castaneda. As far as my mothers cat, she loves the big boy, of course. Spent $700 for him. Although it was a small price to pay from her standpoint.
