Momentum

Hi folks, just wanted to share with you some revelation I had today.

I just completed lesson 6 in phase 3 of the Bootcamp. The task was - “Write for the Next 30 Minutes”.

Now, I just want to note that English is not my native language, so writing in English is a bit of a challenge, so I was willing to accept that I might not achieve much in 30 minutes.

But the main challenge for me was to sit down and write for 30 minutes without any distraction.

As I suspected, indeed.. I was distracted after 5 minutes :), and then again after 10 minutes :)…

But then I decided that enough is enough! I need to discipline my mind!

And the next time my mind was distracted, I’ve noticed that I was writing for 1 hour without stopping! So I decided if I’m on a role, why stop? And finally after almost 2 hours writing with no stop I finished my post.

My point is - I guess that writing (which is new to me) is like a sport - you need to practice, but more important, like in any sport you need to discipline your mind for the first miles (words in our case) until you gather momentum.

Practice is as important as mental discipline.

Hi Jerry,
Absolutely agree!
Thanks for your 2 cents.

Hi Nahumbb, for someone whose native language is not English you are doing a great job. I too get distracted, not so much writing but my thought process. Carry on, you are doing great!

Hi Calvin,
Thank you for your feedback re my writing.
It is encouraging to know that my hard work is paying off.

You're welcome
