Why there is Free Hosting but no Free Offshore Hosting

The first and foremost answer to the given question is the difference in the overall quality of the hosting service. The hosting of the website is providing the servers, bandwidth, data storage, email support, and maintenance services to the website. The website owner in normal circumstances is supposed to pay the hosting company for these services. However, in several instances, the local companies provide all these services free and called free web hosting companies.

However, we wonder how these companies can provide such services free of cost. The main reason is that hosting companies generally use these websites as a platform for their paid advertisement campaigns. They get good revenue from the ads customers. Since it is free hosting, the website owner cannot raise any objection to ads for which he is not even paid. In most of the cases, the screen is full of ads put up by the hosting company.

Such companies generally lack in providing proper technical support, data backup/ security, and alternate servers. They provide limited bandwidth, limited email accounts, and limited data storage; they will lack in advanced and premium features like PHP programming, FTP, MYSQL database and CGI Scripts, which are required for any premium website.

On the other hand, when there is offshore hosting, it will be a chargeable service. All the premium features as mentioned in the previous paragraph will be offered to the website owner. The website owner will be at his will in placing paid ads. Besides, he can also control the ads campaign and its contents directly.

Additionally, the offshore hosting company will generally provide better privacy, anonymity, more storage, higher bandwidth, more email accounts, data backup/ security, full technical support, tax benefits, and above all more servers that are reliable. The hosting company cannot provide the website owner all these super-premium features free of cost.

Therefore, we can say, there is free hosting but no free offshore hosting.
