Happy Friday Everyone!

My day didn't go quite as planned and I allowed myself to get quite distracted! So I decided to read one of the many eBooks I have cued up on my Kindle. Since I felt I was not being very productive, I decided to read this booklet on procrastination.

Book: Change Your Bad Habits: Build productive habits to overcome procrastination

Author: Lynn Hall

Here's my initial review (seen on Amazon): How to identify procrastination

At this point on my journey, I am in need of greater details, techniques, and methods for overcoming what I found to be my challenges.
There's nothing critically wrong with this booklet, but it is yet another beginner book.
The author presents an overview of each topic, and adds little depth of explanation, nor compelling examples.
Her ideas can and possibly will help you identify what you already know, you are a procrastinator.
Her suggestions for changing those habits are simple and direct, but can almost be boiled down to "just do it!".
Well. Almost...
As with many other books on this topic, you will need to journal and reflect on your habits.
Nothing wrong with that, but there was no "a ha" moment for me. Nothing new.
Having said that, I am fully aware that each of us pursues our journey differently and I remain convinced there is much here for some to learn from.
I do recommend this book, if only to use it as a reaffirmation that all you learn helps move you forward on your path.
Happy reading.
M.

--------------------------------

The funny thing is that I realize I am using this book, the review, and the blogging of the review as a diversion from more meaningful work.

I am, in fact, practicing one of my procrastination techniques, as the author described in the book.

I am spending time on less meaningful, or less challenging activities, to avoid getting on with the task, I have chosen to see as a more difficult one.

In this case, this book is really a primer and I should be trusting that I am able to learn from far more challenging books.

So, before I leave this posting, I must congratulate the author on the opportunity she gave me to realize I need to get off my ass and keep moving forward!

Wishing you all a productive and enjoyable weekend!

M.

I can certainly be a procrastinator and I am working on motivational techniques as well as organizing my time better

I'm quite a chronic procrastinator as well hehe.. I know that I got to work on improving my time management and always follow through. Hey all the best M!

Don't procrastinate, do something.

Build a site, tell jokes, make money, sell something, and have fun doing all that.

I need to get off my assets too.

good reminder to me.
I need to finish my e-commerce site i have not started yet.

I Had to go relisten to Earl Nightengale's videos and audios

That's not procrastinating. That is called setting priorities.

It's hard not to procrastinate when you live with your 90 year old mother that has a bad heart, fell down 2 days ago & now can barely walk; a grandson that is ADDHD and a teenager as well; plus my brother that is 39 and a little mentally slow. It takes me a little time to get started so most of the time I wait until everyone goes to bed then I can work from 12am to 3am. If I'm able to sneak in a little time through the day, that is great for me. God Bless and have a great day

Well, I'm certainly going to stop procrastinating -- just as soon as I can get around to it. :=)
