How Do You Stay Consistent When Life Gets Busy?
Consistency is the real secret to success in affiliate marketing.
We all know it, but staying consistent is easier said than done, especially when life gets busy.
For many of us at Wealthy Affiliate, the struggle isn’t motivation…
it’s time.
So I wanted to start a discussion and ask:
How do YOU stay consistent with your website when you’re busy?
Here are a few strategies that have helped me:
🔹 Small Steps Win
Even 10–20 minutes a day can move your website forward.
Consistency beats intensity.
🔹 Routine Over Motivation
I find it easier to stay consistent when I have a daily routine — even if it’s small.
🔹 Batching Saves Time
Planning one day for research, one day for writing, one day for editing.
🔹 Celebrate Small Wins
Even a single comment, or a keyword ranking, is progress.
💬 Question for you:
What’s your #1 consistency strategy at WA?
And if you’re struggling, what’s the biggest obstacle right now?
Let’s share our tips and help each other stay consistent.

One small thing, no matter what, every day. Even if that is just a short conversation with ChatGPT about what needs to be accomplished next, or just making notes of everything going around in my head to look at later. For me, it doesn't have to be much, just something to keep me moving forward.
I love this! Small daily steps are what keep momentum going. Even tiny actions add up over time. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Monica,
Last week I had one disaster after another and I could not get anything done!
Instead of wasting my evenings watching YouTube, I made sure to accomplish one main task that would keep me from falling too far behind with work. Other tasks that could wait but were still important were scheduled for the following week. Other tasks that would have been nice to have gotten done but I knew were not important were crossed off the list
Now, it's a new week and everything is back on track with a new schedule for my tasks and goals.
Christina
Hi Christina,
Thank you for sharing this! I love how you handled a tough week with such clarity and intentionality. Choosing one main task to keep you moving forward, scheduling the rest, and letting go of what wasn’t important is such a powerful strategy.
I’m so glad you’re back on track and I love your new plan for the week. Keep going, you’re doing great!
Afternoon Monica
Sun Tzu, the legendary author of The Art of War, emphasized incremental progress and staying "steps ahead" through preparation rather than impulsive action.
He advised, "Plan for what is difficult while it is easy; do what is great while it is small". and
taught that "Great results can be achieved with small efforts," advocating for small, consistent actions as the foundation for building greatness.
Those words were directed to to generals on the battlefield. They are still relevant, just that our battlefield is business.
My strategy small, consistent actions, always moving forward, inch by inch, small steps.
Just saying ^_^ Cheers
Afternoon Paul,
Thank you for sharing this, such a powerful reminder. Sun Tzu’s wisdom truly applies to business and life. Planning early, taking small consistent steps, and staying prepared is how real progress is built.
Your strategy of inch-by-inch movement is exactly what creates long-term success. Appreciate the insight.
When life gets busy, I still keep WA in mind and make sure I show up in some way. Even if I don’t have time to create content, I don’t like to rush what should be done intentionally. So instead, I read posts, comment, and stay connected to keep the momentum going. I also set a specific time for when I know I’ll be able to return fully. For me, consistency isn’t about doing everything at once—it’s about staying present and not disconnecting completely. Thanks for sharing, Monica.
Thank you for sharing this, Jocelyne. I really love how you put it consistency isn’t about doing everything at once, but about staying present. That mindset makes such a difference, especially during busy seasons. Staying connected without rushing the process is powerful.
