website seo silo restructure results
I just finished a massive restructuring of my website to redesign it into SEO silos.
I started my website before I knew Wealthy Affiliates and the purpose has evolved and become sharper since then. I had no real page hierarchical structure and I would often tag posts and pages into multiple categories.
I took my website, redesigned it according to SEO Silo practices, relinked all my internal links since they all changed, and got rid of material outside my niche. The result was that I cut out about 33% of the posts, created some new pages for my category pages, and ended up with 27 pages and 47 posts. It took me a week.
I submitted my new sitemap to google and waited for the results. Once the site got indexed, the result was immediate and clear. My average page ranking in Google jumped from 45 to 23 overnight. I couldn't believe it!

I know this is an old post, I was wondering if you could elaborate on how you managed the SILO structure? Did you use Pages (not posts) and categorize as parent/child for SILOs? Then, regarding posts and categories (since pages can't be in categories) how did you manage to structurally link the posts to their related pages? Was it just links within the pages?
Yep, and this was just by reorganizing my content! Wish I knew this when I first started my site, but it provides a good case study.
