Time Management (or lack thereof) and Procrastination

I logged into the email associated with this account and found several "google indexed your page" notifications. It got my attention even though I have been kinda avoiding working on the next few lessons. I'm really poor at writing when the inspiration is not strong. I need to work on that. If I want the site to pay off as a part-time job eventually, I need to actually treat it like one. I have to figure out what that looks like though. I have enough time, theoretically, but I think I'll do better if I schedule it in rather than trying to do it when the inspiration strikes. That was often early on but as I started my second week became scarcer.

How many lessons can I expect myself to complete a week?
How many posts should I be writing in a week?

With Blogmutt, I log in when I'm in the mood to write, pick a client to write for, and churn out an article. Their rates suck but I can do 300 words in half an hour or 600 in 45-60 minutes so ultimately, the pay per hour isn't bad if I put in and hour here and there when I feel like it. There are always clients to write for but there are also always other writers and there is no obligation.

With this blog, I'm the only possible writer and I need to write longer articles/posts. I also need to do the keyword research, decide on post structure, and do a bunch of other backend things. It's not that I can't do it. What if I put all of this time in and fail? What if... It can go on forever. But what if I don't put in the time and really try?

"If we don't change direction soon, we'll end up where we're going." -Irwin Corey

I thought signing up and paying was a sign of commitment to change but I still need to do the work. Where do I want to be in a year? That's what I have to keep firmly in mind.

You’ve got the right idea. Consider it a job. You don’t work you loose it.

I think you already know what you need to do.. The key is to schedule it in to your week.

I think a reasonable goal that has been discussed / suggested is to aim for 3 new articles a week. With an average of 5 visitors per article a day.. That will mean over 700 visitors a day in a years time.

With those numbers you are surely going to have some regular income.. and with that I am sure you will find more inspiration now.

Everyone has the desire, motivation and tenacity within themselves.. just look at all of the hurdle we faced and conquered as a baby. We learnt to lift our head up, we learnt to sit up, we learnt to drag ourselves along the ground, then crawl, stand up, walk, run and jump. These were all signs of progress towards our ultimate goal.
