2019 Goals

I joined WA mid-August of 2018 and started work on the Online Entrepreneur Certification aimed at building niche sites. I didn't spend near the amount of time on it that I had planned but I did make some progress. I'm usually pretty good with WordPress but there was a learning curve for the WA platform.

Then there was a lot of self-doubt that slowed me down and still gets in the way sometimes. I'm not as far as I'd like to be, though I'm improving. I'm on the 7th lesson of the 4th level. There are 18 posts on my niche site, including 8 written in December. I have social media setup, though I haven't really developed a following. I have a single follower on twitter, for instance and I was elated to see that.

My goals here at WA for 2019 overall

  • 100 posts total on the SmallNotStuffed.com niche site
  • Complete Online Entrepreneur Certification
  • Start & Complete the Affiliate Bootcamp
  • 75 posts on the Affiliate-focused work-at-home site
  • gain 25 premium referrals, and then enough more to maintain that level when people leave the site.

And because the year-long goals seem like a lot, I started looking at 1st quarter.

  • 25 new posts on the small dog niche site
  • increase social media engagement (at this point, that means any followers at all)
  • Finish Online Entrepreneur training 4th level and 5th level.
  • Start an affiliate-bootcamp site
  • 12 posts to the affiliate-focused site
  • Affiliate Bootcamp 1st level and 2nd level

And just January

  • 10 posts to SmallNotStuffed (2 posts more than December)
  • Finish Online Entrepreneur 4th Level and 5th Level to lesson 5
  • Setup affiliate-focused site and have 4 posts
  • Affiliate Bootcamp 1st level

Much success in achieving all your MMO goals in 2019 and beyond.

Mark

Hi Ginger,
Your goals are very reasonable and obtainable. The main factor as I see it is the amount of time you have to spend on them.

Go for it, you can do it!

Bill

I'm hoping to slowly increase the time spent on WA work. The barrier I have been hitting is the amount of writing I can do in a day and my ability to shift topics.

If I just spent 90 minutes writing an PWP erotica short, I feel done with writing. I struggle to find any enthusiasm for my niche site. The erotica short pays immediately so the niche site, which is a long term gamble, waits. It's the same problem with other types of writing - after 90 minutes-2 hours, I just feel done.

In December, I made some progress by separating writing periods by physical activity or planning each block of writing after a nap.

Hi Ginger,
Planning priorities to foucs on the most important things are sometimes difficult but you are doing the right thing, just one step at a time.

Yes, rest is a key factor to success.

MistsWitch congratulations! I don't make New Year resolutions anymore. Every day is the beginning of a new year, so I make New Day resolutions. LOL. Sometimes New Week resolutions. Point is, we need to see both the trees and the forest. And alas we need to contend with Murphy's Law. Just be resilient. You're doing great!

I do a weekly list of what needs done. Then plan individual days the night before. Sometimes stuff gets shuffled to the next day and that's okay. It depends on my pain levels, motivation, and mood.

Thanks for sharing! I love that you break down your goals, made them measurable and tangible. May I ask how much time you spend on WA per day or per week? Do you have another job as well? Just curious about your planning and schedule. Look forward to follow your progress and success!

My original plan was to try to give WA 10-15 hours per week. In practice, that ended up being 5-6 hours per week before December and around 8 hours per week in December. Half of that is socializing and research. An 800 to 1200 word post (with keywords chosen beforehand) takes me around 2 hours from blank page to edited, posted, and on social media. That's not perfect but more good-enough; B+ or A-.

I work part-time in person, typically 2-4 shifts per week, but I can work on WA from there for part of the shift as long as I bring my own devices in. 2am is a great time for writing. I have a few freelance clients too and sometimes do content mill writing on Blogmutt/Verblio. My biggest struggles time-wise are tearing my attention out of whatever novels I'm reading and not getting too distracted with socializing once I'm here. I do my first draft writing off site to help with the distraction issue. Plus, while site content is powerful for prepping/proofing a post, I have other things I like better for focused writing time.

Thanks for your extensive, information-packed and inspiring answer! I appreciate it. Yeah, it is easy to get distracted by this awesome community sometimes, hahaha...

Awesome goals Ginger!

Godspeed!

Great goals. They are measurable and achievable and made public so you are very likely to achieve them. I hope this is the year that you achieve your financial independence
