What did I miss?
Hello friends,
First off, I'd like to apologize for my absence. I have been gone far too long. Life has taken some twists and turns. Unfortunately I had to take a job that does not currently allow me to spend very much time at all working with my websites :( Hopefully soon this will be rectified.
Today, I had time to work on my website again for the first time since spring. I invite you all to take a look at it and give any tips you see fit.

So I see there are updates to wordpress and some other plugins. Can I get some opinions on these? If I download these will it change the current settings/configurations that I have done? Will I have to redo my pages to fit with the changes?
What else did I miss? Hope I will be able to catch up with you and talk to you all soon

Welcome back Rob! It's always a good idea to do the updates, but remember to backup your site first.
Hopefully, you'll have more time to work on your site and continue on with your training here soon. Every little bit counts, even if it's only an hour a day or whenever you can...it all adds up to being closer to your goal.

Your website is looking good, and will look exactly the same when you update your wordpress updates and plugins. If you're concerned, you can 'Export' all your content to your computer beforehand via the "Tools" setting, just in case anything goes wrong. :)

Had to take a job that requires me to work 12 hour days with a 30 min commute. Hopefully I put some good keywords on the website to get some traffic moving there :) What's wrong with my theme? lol I kinda liked it. Do you have any suggestions?
I mean if you like your theme, stand by it. I learn this through WA and I do agree with them.. Lots of people coming to your site are use to the sidebar to the right.
It also affects someone who comes to your site and start reading your content. People are use to reading from the left to the right.
I also learned that it's more about the user experience when they come to your site. If you don't give the user what they want, you wont make a sale.
So if a site is hard to navigate through, most of the time they will leave.
If you can move your sidebar to the right with theme you have it would navigate more easily, if not I would find another theme with a sidebar to the right.
That's what I learned. :)

Welcome back. Life happens so you just pick up where you left off. I didn't have any issues with the updates. You really do need to do them. Back up first just in case.
