What do you know about cyber bullying?

There have been quite a few blogs and questions about what types of things to blog about. This question often takes the form of frustration. (What should I write about? / I don't know what my Passion is, please help.) I have been thinking that one of the things I can do to help is to grab a quick look at some topics that you can build into a website or added as additional content to the one you are working on right now and please understand that NO links posted here are done so as to promote products to you, my WA friends. They are here as examples of products or services can promote on any website that comes from this idea! If they appear, they are NOT my affiliate links! OK, Back to business. SO:

What do you know about cyber bullying? (or, what can you learn about this 'torn from the headlines' topic that will help you build an authority website around it. There has been a lot of interest in this as it continues to happen, especially with the prevalence of cell/smart phones in ever smaller hands as we go forward.

With the ability to be anonymous on many social sites and using phones that can be blocked, so the victim does not even see or know the phone number of the caller, there is so many chances of getting the messages that can send many kids, and some adults, running scared. This does not help and their parents can usually not do anything about it until they get some help, themselves.

You can find a lot of information on the net, including stopbullying.gov, to make a very good case for the fact that the reader needs some help in fighting this type of activity.

When someone is faced with physical bullying, the bully has to BE there; physical things can be done to deal with it. The problem with cyber bullying is that it can happen, literally 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is much harder to catch and very, very hard to locate the actual 'bully'.

There are ways, of course, and many of these miscreants don't realize it.

To do that, you tell your visitors, they need some help and it needs to be closer than a government website!

If you enter the phrase 'cyber bullying' into Amazon's search bar, there are a couple of pages of books, tapes, some of both on Kindle while others are physical books. (YES, the world still has books!)

On your website, you will want to define this term and explain why cyberbullying is different than the physical kind. You will be able to find actual case studies, which, as you know, because we have a few here on WA, really helps in visualizing the explanation.

In Clickbank, you can enter the same search term in the marketplace and come up with at least one great resource!

This is not really a fun topic, but you can work on this website or include it in any home & family or kids' site with good effect, I think. Whenever you can add content to your site is a fun time!

'Till next time!

Mickey

A niche topic that needs to be continually addressed because of the availability of cyber technologies today. Good Post Mickey.

.

Thank you Jerome, Any takers?

A timely topic for sure Mickey! We need something to offer these kids so they do not fall prey to all the negative stuff that surround them!
Thanks for the post!
Pat

I like the idea of helping people on both sides of the site!

wow! This is a really good topic to post about! There have been too many suicides of teenagers, and yes, even younger children because of this cyber bullying epidemic! Good for you to post on a tough subject!

That's what I do!

Cyber bullying is particularly rampant amongst young people. Unfortunately, they generally aren't in a state to seek help and don't know where to turn because they don't want to be judged by their peers or by their parents.

I hope you are able to help these people, Mickey.

Michael

Anyone who has a website dealing with kid's issues, gaming or even any Home & Garden website could include this topic as it is close to home for many people!

This is such a cowardly action, but it seems to be difficult to squash.

Great topic for a niche that could help countless people.

Thank you, Mickey, for another great niche for someone.

It would be so great if one of our numbers would take this on and make a difference, however small.

Harass people anonymously seems to become a common habit. On phones with blocked numbers and on the internet with fake names and "Safe" hidden behind a nickname. It is very important that people know what they can do about cyber bullying. Especially teenagers go bowed under this phenomena.
Thank you for the link to the gov. site:)

Now, I didn't think you liked links, Loes;)

But, thank you for filling in a few other things. I was not trying to provide enough info to actually build a site, just enough to get people's juices going!

And you are ar right about the anonymous-ness of the whole thing.

:) I like links to info, Mickey, (as long as they do not point out to products, affiliated or not) info links are perfectly alright.

I have 6 kids, and I am now running a daycare with 7 kids from 4 different households, and I am always alert on bullying, those children walk along the fine lines, and often do not even realize they are bullying.

Yeah, having 4 kids and 6+ grandkids, I have been having talks with all of them....

I see a Big shift in raising children. When I came home, in my youth with a complaint about my teacher had punished me, I could get an extra kick in the ass from my dad and the words that I probably deserved it. Nowadays, parents run to school to kick the teachers on their asses.

I don't say it was better back then, we were kept short and knew where the limit was. I see now, many children are not taught any boundaries. And when you say something about their misbehavior, you can get a big mouth and when they are with a group, you have to run for your own safety.

Different cultures have a lot to do with this, as well.

You are Danish, correct? Where do you physically live? I'm talking Country, Region, obviously not address!

The beautiful Netherlands:)

Ok, I was just interested! Thanx.

I have seen pictures and I would love to be there!

Very serious subject. Thank you for your post. It is more prevalent than most know. ATB Carson 1

It is a BIG problem, especially with all of the many more smartphones than even a few years ago.

thank you Mickey. The effects are very real!

Thank you for being the first to comment! (haven't I seen you in this position before?)

And, yes they are very real; That is why this website could be very important for someone's readers.
