How to get the Classic Editor back in Wordpress.
If you recently made an update to Wordpress and are not happy with the new editor that comes with it, you can change back to the old editor you were using with a simple free plugin. In Wordpress, Go to Plugins, add new Plugin and do a search for "Classic Editor". Select the Classic Editor plugin, install it and then activate it. Simple as that!

Already updated to WP 5 So far can't see the difference as still a 2-week old baby. Lol. Now I know the way if I need to switch back to the previous version. Thank you for your advice and sharing, Mick :o)
I've not yet updated to Wordpress 5.0 yet.
It's great to know that we can go back to the old editor if we're not liking the new version.
Thanks for the info. James.
Such a shame they made it a plug in instead of just building that functionality in - but at least they gave us something.

I've had "Classic Editor" in the wings just waiting for the dreadful "WordPress 5.0" moment.
And, I activated it within 10 minutes of the WP update. Works great!
(To me, the new WP version is not as user friendly as the classic version.)

I agree.
