I've had "Classic Editor" in the wings just waiting for the dreadful "WordPress 5.0" moment.

And, I activated it within 10 minutes of the WP update. Works great!

(To me, the new WP version is not as user friendly as the classic version.)

LIke an idiot I jumped the gun and downloaded 5.0. I am just getting comfortable with the Old Editor and my busy season is Jan-march, so no time to "learn" the new one. Thanks so much for this post. Eases my mind.

I just tried to update to 5.0 but the site is down for Maintenance. I'll try back in a few minutes.

Already updated to WP 5 So far can't see the difference as still a 2-week old baby. Lol. Now I know the way if I need to switch back to the previous version. Thank you for your advice and sharing, Mick :o)

Not yet with WP 5. I like old WP editor.

I've not yet updated to Wordpress 5.0 yet.

It's great to know that we can go back to the old editor if we're not liking the new version.

Such a shame they made it a plug in instead of just building that functionality in - but at least they gave us something.
