How are your Trials, Tribulations, and Jubilations working out for you?
Some observations on a 2-month WA Journey.
- Trials are tests of performance.
- Tribulations are the cause of great troubles.
- Jubilations are feelings of happiness and triumph.
Trials
Do you find that you have to apply a certain aggression to write? Writing is a trial for me. All during my past, it hasn't been easy for me to be an Easy Writer.
I have a Math degree and graduate work in Quantitative Research Methods for Business. Numbers are exhilarating for me; I derive great satisfaction for completing tests of my performance. However, writing balls me up.
I do now have 10 posts. It was much easier after I realized that I already have more than 100 recipes in my document files and I can copy and paste them into my posts. Then contribute some background depth about origins, ingredients, spicing, cooking techniques, goals and results.
Now I'm facing producing my first product review, and I've been beginning it for a week now. So far I've kicked the cat, cleaned the kitchen, weeded the patio, smoked some sausages and ribs, listened to Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream" on YouTube, binge-watched Netflix, and completed a ton of Evil Sudoku Puzzles.
Have you found that another trial is building out the website in Word Press? That there is information overload?... and Confusion?
There are so many details that go into constructing a professional website presentation for the public. There's a lot for me to learn in such a small time. All that detail has to go into all the correct nooks and crannies. And do you have the ability to figure out what's gone wrong, and how to fix whatever's not going right? I don't. And that will be part of this business development from now through the whole life cycle of online business.
And what about the biggest test of performance - the response to your Affiliate purpose from the public? Will there be enough purchases to fulfill your goals to your satisfaction? I have no idea how close I even am to this as I have as yet to make a sale.
Trials will always be with us.
Tribulations
Do any of you have causes of great troubles? I have had them all along and still do.
Have you ever thought whether your niche will fulfill your Affiliate Program goals? At least I haven't changed my niche. But I did change my website name. And all my old data had to be transferred to my new site. Did it all land into the right places right away? No. Was it aggravating? Yes. Did I know how to fix it? No.
Another cause of my troubles is my own perfectionism. I'm an introvert. An observer. An analyst and problem solver. I'm a Magician, learning to be a Warrior and a King. I learned a lot from my wife for 22 years. She has a Master's degree in Journalism, is such an exacting editor her workmates at one job dubbed her "Conan the Grammarian." So, I write and rewrite to get the best meaning from each post.
And how are you at reviewing and leaving Comments on other's Posts? Some of the websites are still under construction, some are really incredibly professional... they're awesome and far beyond mine. I have learned a lot and I've got a lot to learn. Very humbling.
Have you ever spent 3 hours reviewing a Website, writing up a detailed Comment, exacting analysis, cogent observation, consultative, full of accolades and specifics? And then it's rejected because it was supposed to be a Post Comment and not a Website Feedback. I have.
Have you ever left your Comment on the Website, instead of in the Comment box where it has to go to get credit? Have you taken the time and effort to leave the suggested 250 words in Comment and received 75 words on yours? Happens all the time to me.
Now I know that if you compare yourself to others, you'll only be vain or bitter. I'm neither. This is an internal project. The better the service I offer, the Wealthier my Affiliate business will be.
Have you ever looked at your work and realized you've come a long way... and you have a longer way to go? Yep. That's me.
Tribulations will always be with us. Hopefully as my foundation becomes stronger the tribulations will be lower in intensity, and farther between occurances.
Jubilations
And thank goodness for the Jubilations, right? This is an enlightening experience for me.
After reading other's posts and reviewing websites, I am inspired by all the effective ideas that I know that have come from within WA.
Lots of professional business people are being guided by the brilliant Training program. Not only Kyle's, but all the other Trainings posted by members of the Community that really clarify and edify.
I like helping others by leaving Comments and Replies and getting a Thank You in return.
I've made connections with specific members all over the world who are sharing their knowledge and time on my behalf. I get kind and professional feedback on my work that encourages me keep moving forward. Step by step. Little by little.
And when I reach out to the Community, someone is always ready and capable of helping. All my questions have been answered swiftly, articulately. Tech Support has been particularly awesome... responding quickly and having answers.
There are now 10 articles posted. My knowledge about my niche has deepened and broadened as I've completed histories and origins to make sure I have my facts right. Gaining familiarity with WordPress, the mysterious back-office workings of a functioning website.
When I've earned enough credits to request Comments on my postings, the Comments have been so satisfying because Commenters have liked my work. I've worked so hard, working as smart as I can. They are the stuff that are encouraging me to keep going.
From a post that I Shared on my Facebook Page, there's a Pirate Chef in England who is now following my recipes.
It's been an incredible amount of fun. A much better use of my time than finishing dozens of Evil and Diabolical Sudoku puzzles, or binge-watching Netflix while sipping wine. Cooking has been my passion for decades now. In the back of my mind there's always been the thought about assembling a cookbook with the recipes that I've created over the years. Without that passion, I would probably not have come so far.
I've done a lot. There's a long way to go. And I'm good with that. This is a great program. There'll be lots more Trials and Tribulations, and the Jubilations may just outweigh them after all.
But how much closer am I to having completed my Product Review assignment? Uhmmm, haven't started yet.
How about you?

Hi Michael,
Great article! I can associate with all of them!
We all just need to hang in there and make it work for us!
Good luck with your product review, that is where I am also!

Hi, Michael,
Once I get started it should be better.
My thing is organizing all those loose thoughts into a flow.
It all will fall into place soon.
Thank you.

Thanks for the great post!
Yes without a doubt it’s a roller coaster ride.
Hopefully we can endure the uphills and enjoy the downhills.
Individually it wouldn’t be possible but as a community we are able to make it happen.

Hi, KyleAnn,
Appreciate your taking the time to read this blog.
I agree with you, without the community, it'd be impossible for me to get this far... and there's a long way to go.
Thank you.
