Keep going through the rain and you will reign

Every day is a new day. You face new challenges each day and cannot compare the two to each other outside of the facts that they fall on a day that ends in the letter 'Y' .

Yes, some of us go through a daily routine that seems the same thing over and over again. It gets mundane and boring to the point where we feel like we are stuck in a rut. That may be all the daily challenge that we need. The need to break out of the routine rut that we are in.

It could be that "simple". It could be a lot harder too. We could be in a full schedule where we don't have a second to ourselves and when the morning alarm clock wakes us up, we are already "late" to our 'to do list'. If it is a "To Do List' like mine, it is NEVER complete and always needing things to be finished before you can start your day.

This is the "normal" routines that I am talking about right now. I am not even getting into the parts of our daily schedule where we get interruptions and obstacles that come in our way to change our plans for the day.'

You know the ones I am talking about. I mean the phone call from the school saying that your child hurt themselves in shop class and needs medical attention that the school cannot provide for them. You will have to come and pick them up and bring them to an Urgent Care. That is the kind of challenge of the day that I am talking about.

When these types of challenges change your schedule it puts a halt to your working on your websites. It is nearly impossible to continue when you are in a place like that and they have signal blocks for heart monitors and things of that nature. This is just one example. There are many other types of examples such as flying to a meeting as another example of downtime.

When it rains down on you and kills your momentum, it does not have to be the end of your productive life for your website. I have experienced this type of rain in my life while I have been trying to revamp my websites over the last couple of weeks.

I have had a hurricane come through the area. I have had a relative die. I have had another relative in need of emergency surgery. I have had to go on a recruited tour out of state (at the last minute) to tour a college that my son was recruited to go to . I have had my water pipes burst in my house. First, the hot water pipes burst and was able to fix it without replacing the entire housing's pipes until a week later the main water lines burst from the street (all due to the hurricane) forcing debris up our old pipes to where it burst in the yard and in the house again on the other side.

This time the rain was stopping ALL water flow into the house. Estimates for repairs over $3100.00!! FEMA said there was no proof the hurricane caused it, the plumbers said it could not have been caused by normal wear and tear but also could not prove to FEMA (which would have helped pay for it with proof). We had not enough savings left to repair the pipes, and since buying the house and taking on the loan, our credit was now in a debt ratio that would not allow for us to borrow ANYTHING to repair the pipes.

This is why we can't let the rain stop us. If we did stop when it rained we would surely drown. I started to say my prayers and do the one thing that I DID have control over in my days and that was working on my websites. I listened to my teachings and I applied them to my websites. I changed the old ways into the new ways and progress was made.

In the time that we were searching for help with the pipes, my website had become much more professional looking and detail oriented. I organized what I had on it and was adding images and videos as I could. In the mean time, I searched D.I.Y. libraries for ways to fix pipes myself. Then the phone rang.

My brother in law called me and asked me if I had found anyone willing to take my home project Visa card. It is a card that only certain vendors take (if they are Wells Fargo clients then they take it) I told him not yet. (there are NO plumbers that actually take that card) That is when I got my answers to my prayers. He said my sister who had died in August would want him to help me out and he said he was going to pay for the pipes. He said you have done things like that for us in the past and your sister would have wanted us to help you now.

With this, I felt my sister Tina near me and I understood what it meant that family is forever. Thank you God, thank you Scott and thank you Tina. When it was raining in my life, God let hope reign because I did not give in to the rain. Victory reigned in the rain as my website improved, my home improved and life kept going forward with or without any rain. You can always stop and smell the roses on the way to the task to be done. Just don't let the rain stop you from doing the job you are trying to do.

No matter what you have planned in life, obstacles and challenges will unfortunately pop up at the worst times possible. It will be like rain on your baseball game. You just can't play a game in the rain the same way. BUT, if you put your head down and dig in to your work and focus on the task at hand with prayers and hard work, then it will also reign on you. This time it will reign on you in a different way. The satisfaction of a job well done, a victory out of the darkness, your inner strength glowing shows your integrity to others all shine to others in a way that make you REIGN as the rain all fell around you.

Today, YOU decide! Will you let it rain on you or will you decide to REIGN the day instead?

Mike

I read a powerful quote from a man who lived to be well over 100 years old. When asked what contributed to his longevity he said simply, "When it rains, I let it." words to live by. Thanks for reminding me of this quote. - Joy
