Wait WHAT! Not even a week and I'm google ranked! (Indexed!)
So for most of you that know my procrastinating self...it took me weeks to find a niche...I come on during my lunch break and see I've all ready ranked in Google!!! Like I didn't have content till Thursday last week.....less than a week. I don't know if this or making money excites me, but I'm pretty happy!! Thank you, everyone, for the advice and suggestions and, most of all, the encouragement. I'll repeat it the community here is unbelievable!! You all are the best! So this is a short and sweet post, as I have to put myself back into work mode. But I'm going to be doing it smiling!!! Oh, let's not forget I'm not even half way thru boot camp!!

Congratulations on being indexed by Google. It's a great first step. Your next step is to write good content that gets ranked for your desired keywords/search terms.
Just so that you're clear, there's a difference between being indexed and being ranked. Indexed simply means that your website's pages and posts appear in Google's database and can be found by their URLs. This happens automatically as Googlebot crawls the web but can be speeded up by using Google Search Console. Each page and post is indexed individually. There's no such thing as "the site". It's a collection of pages and posts.
Pages and posts are ranked for particular keywords/search terms. This is what you're striving for. So that your post comes up on page 1 when someone enters that keyword/search term.
You probably are right, I just got excited to see the Google badge, unfortunately when u get it, it says ranked. So there was my confusion. And like I said im only 30% into the boot camp training. And for my major procrastination in the beginning, getting the Google badge excited me. But you did explain alot to me, I was not aware of such a difference and I appreciate it! Thank you. This community is the best I have ever seen. I appreciate all the help I can get from everyone!
Yes, that's an error in the WA announcement that's misleading.
Nonetheless, it's an achievement and worth celebrating.
It's really important to understand that rank is for a specific keyword. So your aim is to rank high for keywords that people are actively searching for, without being buried by the competition.
