Surfing the Waves of Life as an Affiliate Marketer

I like to call myself a lifesurfer. The funny part is: I have NEVER surfed!! Hahaha!! But I have lived! And honestly, life does feel like an ocean of waves...

Why am I talking about this now?

Well... let me tell you a story...

Let's go back to last summer... last July to be more precise... I was absent from WA... I was spending a lot of time in the "real world"... and I actually got a "real job"... you know... the type of job where you don't get to choose when you start and when you finish... where you don't get to work from home in your pyjamas... Gosh! How I love to work from home in my pyjamas!! 😊
So, I worked for 2 weeks, as a French teacher for the intensive French course of the Language School of the University of Leuven. Very intense!! 12-hour days when you take the preparation in account!! I had worked for many years as a teacher around the world before, but this time something was different...

This time, I had the mind of an affiliate marketer. This time, I had a blog and a Youtube channel. And I saw the potential... although I was still shy to share all this with my students... So I waited until the last day, and I showed them the resources that could be of interest to them on my blog and Youtube channel..

BUT, and that was a big BUT, I was not really ready... I actually did not have any blog post specifically about learning French... I did not have anything that was really made for them... so my attempt to get them interested to follow a link to an online program they could use to learn French further was a total failure...

I realised afterwards how I could have done this better... and kind of wished I got a second chance... but it was too late.

Weeks went by... I was busy with other things... and then a few days ago the same Language School contacted me again... asking me if I wanted to work with them again. This time, less intensive, but over a longer period of time, and with more groups... My affiliate marketer's mind got excited again!!

Yes!! I am getting the 2nd chance I was asking for! I still have to write that blog post about online resources to learn French but I am motivated by the concrete opportunities I am going to get starting next week to share it with my students.

So, I missed the first wave... but a second one is coming, even bigger... it feels exciting... I do want to get this one right... I still have to do the work, but I do feel the motivation too...

So, let me ask you a question: Which waves did you miss in the past that may be coming back in your life now, giving you a second chance to get it right? And what are you going to do about it?
