One Fear we Need to Get Over to be Successful - Starts with 'R'
Dear WA friends,
Today, I was blessed to see that someone had asked me for advice in a private message here at WA.
I felt their question was very relevant to anyone growing out of their comfort zone, and so very relevant here at WA.
Her question was about APPLYING FOR AFFILIATE PROGRAMS, in response to my WA blog post from yesterday:

Here's part of her message:
"How many posts do you have on your website before you applied?
I'm still hesitant to apply because I only have 3 posts on my website. How many posts do you think a website has to have before it gets accepted for any affiliate program?"
I felt that my reply to her could benefit more people here at WA, so here is a short version:
In my experience, EACH AFFILIATE PROGRAM IS DIFFERENT. For some, you can get approved immediately, and for others, my current site is still not enough...
THE ONE THING YOU NEED TO GET OVER IS THIS: THE FEAR OF REJECTION
YES! YOU ARE GOING TO BE REJECTED SOMETIMES! SO WHAT?
You will survive and get over it. :-) You can start with the ones that accept you now and keep the others on your wish list for later... that's what I do... :-)
So go ahead! Get experienced at being rejected! Get experienced at getting over it! You will feel stronger from it all!

Great advice. I was also rejected once because I have amazon as an affiliate and the vendor I applied to thought I was strictly an amazon website. I guess they didn’t see the posts where I used share a sale also. I didn’t waste my time to argue I just moved on.
This is excellent advice. You are so right in that you may get rejected at times, but you still need to move forward in order to be successful. How many times have we read about very talented and successful people in their quest to be successful? They didn't start out successful....they had many hurdles to jump before they got to where they are now. The main thing is they never gave up! We just need to get out of our own way sometimes and continue to climb.

Great advice for sure..Too often we let fear control what we do..Fear of this rejection fear of that rejection.

So relevant and helpful to all of us at some point in our journey here. I have been disapproved on site comments several times recently and so have yet to return to this and "break the mould" of rejection syndrome so to speak. I believe I am becoming more resilient at surviving this. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure, Alan! Thank YOU for sharing your experience! Yes! I somehow felt crushed the first time one of my comments was disapproved on the comment platform... I was very surprised at my own reaction but I guess this fear unknowingly lingers within us until something seemingly unimportant happens and it jumps out again! Hahaha!! Rejection is one of the constants in life. Like death, taxes, and change (except from vending machines).

Great post! "R" can hurt badly, but when we dust ourselves off and proceed with confidence learning from that rejection we make progress!
