Time to get back into it

Well I haven't been around very much over the past few months. I lost my dad in July and so have had all the associated issues with that - funeral, sorting his estate, sorting out mum and dad's house - an ongoing job. I went overseas in September and basically chose to enjoy it and reconnect with family I hadn't seen since 1975! It was wonderful and I've been home nearly two weeks and hating it.

I have so much to do and the jobs keep piling up but I can't seem to get back into the swing of it. I haven't blogged in ages and am angry at myself that I haven't as all my hard work to get my blog ranking and I've just dropped the ball.

Over the weekend I sat down and started Trello boards to put all the jobs into bite size pieces but even just looking at that is daunting.

I know if I don't start then I will never finish. Might try for a few of the simpler things today that will show a difference quickly - tidy up my workspace, put some washing away, tidy up the lounge. Maybe seeing some difference will make the inertia of everything else lift.

I've gone through what you are going through, and it takes longer to recover than you ever imagine. Don't pressure yourself about it - give yourself time to heal. The site will always be there when you are ready. So sorry for your loss.

Welcome back Megan. I am sure you will soon get into the swing of things.

Hi....I think you've taken the first step by writing this blog. Perhaps each day you can do one thing more. My condolences on the passing of your father.

Thank you Debbie. I have also written a blog post on my site - not a great one but it is something whilst I work up to it!

Hello Megan, it does get hard to get back into the rhythm of work after a long hiatus. I think you have figured the best way to do that which is to tackle the easy chores first. By doing that and completing them it might give you the motivation to tackle the harder ones.
