Debating the home page look and feel

What do you think? Should a home page show rolling posts or should it have a brief summary showing what posts are on the page. Then a person can click on the posts that would say something like click here to read more. Not sure what I'm asking but maybe someone can help out. Any ideas?

Hello Janine,

I use a static page for a title of certain posts, then I put my actual posts as subposts under those. 5 recent ones appear on my home page, but as I add more, they roll into my page headings.

I love how professional it looks. I agree with Paul.

Does this help?

Not sure how you did that but sounds like it would work.

I like your site. I'll get mine looking nice and neat and organized. I'm still finding my footing. But the General idea is something organized similar to yours. OK calling it a day.. bye

Awww...I feel honored...I'm stumbling too, Really!! Might not look that way, but I do. Funny ppl are always telling me my site looks clean. I wonder what that means?

Have a great evening Janine!

Hugs!

I'd be honored. :)

Hi,
Came across this post as I needed help with my homepage and I just viewed your website and I like the way you set it up. Very neat :) How were you able to get your recent articles as "snippets" on your homepage? I am having trouble figuring this out.

I do have sub menus within my menu, but my posts are still up as entire posts.

I had that problem it seems some templates are set that way so I had to customize. What's you site address? I will take a look see if yours is the same. Meanwhile take a look at this training see if it might help.

Hello Justine!

The theme I used has that built-in. The last 5 blog posts I've added are viewable on my home page.

My theme is... Ving by InkHive.

Does that help you?
Sorry it took me a bit to respond...

For me a static page is far better because then the person has the choice where to go and what to see and I think looks more professional

Thanks Paul

I think rolling only makes sense for actual products that have a call to action that may be on sale or are new to the site. I do think it can be distracting to the over all message.

Thanks for reply.
