GoalsTargets

I never really set any goals which was probably not really a good idea but I really didn't know what to expect from this community when I started so I found it really hard to set any type of goal or know what to expect realistically.

My only goal I set for myself was to have made my first sale by the 6 month mark knowing the time constraints I would have with my already fairly busy schedule.

However I have managed to reach what I would consider a couple of micro goals.

1) I have made money, it isn't much but I have had a couple of click throughs from google adsense.

2) I have reached 100 comments on my website. This means I am engaging. Admittedly most are via the SiteComment but I know some are organic as well.

Just thought I would share.

Has anybody else had issues setting goals?

Goals is really what you want to achieve for you and your family, you wanted to earn some money which you have done, I always feel goals need to be specific and with a time frame to. however we are all different and as time goes on you will come to a decision as to what you want and how you will go about it

Yeah i definitely understand what goals are and why it is important to have a time frame. My main concern is I didn't and still don't really have a point of reference to make my goals off. They have to be realistic or whats the point?

I tend to set short term goals then a couple of longer terms however they are not set in stone,, hope they come to you as it sure helps to focus

Good steady progress is key.

my Wealthy Affiliate goals have been a miserable failure. However I do.make a few hundred dollars per month and I expect that to grow . I do have some things that are going to take me away from WA actively for a while... Actively well I guess I'm never really active a lot anyway I have too much life going on.

When you say you make a few hundred dollars per month, are you making that from your affiliate web sites or something else? Because if that's what you're making from your websites, I can't see how you can see yourself as a miserable failure; I'd see you as a person well on your way to becoming even more successful.
