Coding Coding Coding!
It can be so frustrating being so pedantic about my website but I feel it is very important to me. I have been doing a touch of coding to get my site away from the theme model and just make it my own to give my own website identity. I have also been teaching myself the coding along the way adding to my frustration.
I am making good progress I have sorted out some pretty major issues like creating a dynamic banner that is the full width of any screen viewing and sorting out layout issues from creating said banner and now trying to optimize my mobile site which is considered mobile friendly from an SEO perspective but I'm just not perfectly happy with it.
I feel this is important to have the site perfect before I pull in traffic because I feel if there are issues with the site it is going to cause potential loss of traffic early on and I want to capture my entire audience right from the start.
When people see my website I want them to be able to navigate perfectly without issues, see a beautiful website that identifies with my brand and niche and see a range of quality content right from the get go to encourage them to keep coming back for more.

Don't let perfectionism interfere with production. The content you write is far more important than a few bells and whistles. ~Marion
I agree with Marion's comments. Sometimes we overlook what is important for what is nice to have.
In 1975 I was a beginning programmer and I actually did that until my more experienced peers made fun of me. I learned. We all have to sometimes. Its actually fun until productivity becomes an issue.
You are working hard.. when I hear coding, coding in my mind it is saying run, run, run only know very basic stuff... whilst I do want a nice site, I have been focusing on trying to get the content right so it is assisting people with questions they are seeking answers for... well done hope it all turns out the way you want it
you will just do not overdo the perfecting bit.... as they say just do it and refine along the way
Seems like you are working hard, Matt.
I would advise it's better to not be too emerged into website design and also concentrate on content creation and website promotion. Most themes are able to function well on its' own and there is no sweat in working on your site design as you go.
Cheers!
I understand this but I'm not in a hurry to make money straight away and I'm most of the way there and working on content at the same time. Basically if I've had enough of content or have a temporary mind block i work on the coding :)
