We should always back up when updating theme or making changes, I use a plugin called backdraft to back up but there are others and everyone has their preference

Hi Mary, According to Websites & Hosting when you click on the gear (details) displayed with your website info, there is Real-time Backup (Filesystem & Database). But I also have a plugin to backup and export a file to download on my computer as Kyle instructs in the lesson. I don't see a need for when you are deleting unused themes, but you should backup when you make any changes / additions to your site.

To delete themes, if you go to customize, change your theme completely and hover over the one you want to delete, you will see 'Theme Details' displayed in the center. Click on it and you will find 'Delete' down on the bottom right.

Hi, I say YES, always back up your site whenever you make changes, plugins, themes, etc. Backing Up Your Website try going to you adim page and going to themes, to delete the theme.
