Looking forward to 2015
2014 has been an interesting year. It started with me realizing I lost my inspiration when it comes to my job. I decided to figure out what I want to do instead.
It took some time but then I realized I want to write. This has been a hobby all my life and I've been published in Sweden (just a few schoolbooks, mostly textbooks, used in schools in Sweden and a few short stories and poems). So I got a goal: I want to write. If possible write childrens books especially for children with dyslexia (all children will be able to read them, but I'm going to think of dyslectic children when I wirte and make sure the text will be composed a way that will make it easier for them to read).
Contacted a few publishing companies in Sweden, but they were not interested. It's hard to get published in Sweden. Since it is a small country the market is so small and they are not often prepared to spend money on something new with an unknown author. And I couldn't explain to much since I didn't want them to use the idea without hiring me.
OK, I have to publish it myself. But how will I make that happen? How till I market it? How will people find my books? I needed a website - and I didn't know anything about websites... I tried to learn about it. Finally I found WA and felt I had come "home". I've started a website concerning a subject I'm passionate about. This time not about children's books.I want to focus on one thing at the time - this time on how to create a website. I've realized all kind of writing makes me happy. The fastest way to have a more inspiring job is to get my current website going. When I start earning money I'll work less at my current work and more at my site. This way my business will grow.
My plan for next year:
- Go thru the getting started course.
- Get my website going.
- Go thru the Bootcamp (to learn more about websites and everything else we're being taught here)
- Make my website for my books.
- Publish two children books.
2014 was a year of reflection. 2015 is the year of action. Wonder where I will be in a year from now. Wonder where we all will be then.
Wish all of my WA family a Happy New Year. Let's make 2015 the best year ever!

Marie, your passion is to write. Children love to hear a good story about themselves. You might want to look up e-publishing.com, and get your books printed. It's going to take you about a year to accomplish all of your goals. Much success on your journey.
Thanks for the advice. This is what makes WA such a beautiful place. Everyone is sharing what they know and together we are strong. Much success on your journey too and a Happy New Year.
Fantastic goals. It's great to have the community of WA behind us to continue to bolster our faith in our goals, too.
I wouldn't be able to do this without WA. Feel so blesssed to be here. Two months ago it was a dream to do something like this. Today it feels like I can make it work if I'm prepared to do the job.
Happy New Year!
I'll let you know when I'm done... and got them translated :) Since I don't think you understand Swedish :) Have a Happy New Year.
You are correct. However, I do have a dear friend here who is from Sweden. She an elderly lady. She may enjoy one actually in Swedish!!
