A Hammock’s Day
Today I decided it’s going to be a hammock’s day. That’s a picture of my feet on the hammock just now. 🥰 I am thankful that I am able to experience this amazing holiday.
I can hear the relaxing sound of the waves crushing onto the shore of Riviera Maya🏝. It’s 32 C degrees ☀️and I’m surrounded by the shadow of beautiful Mexican tropical trees and palm trees🌴🌴🌴. There’s a lovely breeze cooling me down and my sunburn is getting better thanks to your much appreciated recommendations from yesterday’s post. 🙏
I could stay here forever, swinging side to side on the hammock. A wild raccoon 🦝 has just gone by near me followed by its family behind him 🦝🦝🦝🦝. The birds are sweetly singing to each other. 🦜🐧
Soon it’ll be time to get some food from the beach bar 🌮 and then onto the health bar for my favourite shake called Oox, made with a blend of soya milk, mango 🥭 and papaya.

Come early evening it’s time to head for the Theme buffet. Yesterday’s theme was Pirates of the Caribbean. I almost felt like running in an oddly manner like Johnny Depp as soon as I heard the music… 🤣🤣 but I didn’t!
There are also quite a few other à-la-carte restaurants that you need to pre-book… Thai, Mediterranean, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, etc.
There’s free booze everywhere after that. I like Sky Bar which has these lovely neon blue lit cubes that are actually the tables. I had a cocktail called Bay Breeze a couple of nights ago and after two sips I was gone! (I don’t usually drink alcohol) and I started talking nonsense (nothing different there from usual days anyway.) It is beautiful at night, you can see the lovely stars shining.
There’s also another beach bar with live music and lightbulbs surrounding it.
There’s the beach for a stroll.
Theatre entertainment with singers and dancers as well as impersonators of Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift.
Yesterday, there was a mini-market where the locals were selling hand made crafts, paintings, etc.
There’s a disco on the perimeter too but I think I’m too old for that now!
There’s another better disco for the youngsters called Coco Bongo near Playa del Carmen outside the resort and if you’re young, it’s a must, so they say!
Anyway, there’s loads!

Wow there are loads to do, but I’m not surprised!
Listen, don’t think about yourself as too old to do anything, especially while on an excellent vacation. It’s all about fun!
I’m the same way with alcohol. My wife and I were on a cruise and we went to the martini bar. After just one, I had to go lay down a while!
About those giant raccoons. I assume they are used to tourists.
I can remember getting trapped in a laundry room with a normal-size one many years ago. It wasn’t very amusing but it worked out ok in the end! 😁

My other half was just saying that he fancied a bit of disco dancing… Help!! 😜😜 🕺🕺????
I escaped but my clothes were still in the washer. I had to go back later with a security guard. What a nasty little guy he was (the raccoon).
