Mother's Day Request

I'm taking it upon myself to write a Mother's Day request.

It is off topic. Delete if you don't want to read off topic.

You may have heard me say my son has downs. He is a delight. Brings much joy to my life.

But this week I am unable to manage his blood sugar levels.

The doctor says it's my fault but I am Keto now and do not provide process carbohydrates to him starting two weeks ago. Everything's the Mother's fault with the doc. I ignore this attitude.

My son drank apple juice with a support worker. He drank lots of it too because he knows he would not be allowed with me.

I was unable to get his blood sugars under 20 some days. With a high of 25. He is on pills and an injection once a week. The doc says he is likely has to go to hospital and has to go onto 3 injections' a day testing his bloods 3 times a day.

Before we go down the 3x daily injections' path,

Is there anything I can do with natural alternatives to help diabetes?

I was of the understanding that the proper sugar level is 120. I'm a type two, and not only is it key to watch WHAT your eating, but more like when! Not right before bed time for sure. I hope you get it under control, Diabetes is not the most frightful thing oyu have to deal with, but it IS manageable.

Take care, Jen!

You are right Jeff with what you said. But I think your measurement are different. We are metric and you may be imperial. I think. Yes its not the worst thing that can happen. And yes eating times do matter. Thanks for stopping past. Jen

Hi Jen, I am sorry to hear about your son. I wish him good health. I am a bit disappointed in the doctors comment on blaming you. My gosh you are the greatest mum to him.

I did a post on Diabetes 2, and I have several natural alternatives listed. I will PM you the URL. I am sure you will find it helpful.

Best wishes,
Michael

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
I work with children with down in my therapies. They are so warm, alert and funny it's a real pleasure, I always have a good time with them. They don't suffer from diabetes but other health problems and their parents work with a naturopath to help them through their health problem. This helps them a lot and the good thing is that their doctor also works with this naturopath so there is no problem of contradiction with their treatment. You could try to see with this kind of specialist that could give you a little more precise answers.

Once again, Happy Mother's Day you have the best job in the world!

Hi Jen, Happy Mothers day. First off, your son is blessed to have you, and you to have him.

I have 2 down relatives in our family. And I love them to pieces. They are so warm and loving. You are blessed.

I am a type 2 diabetic, and my sister is a type 1 extreme diabetic.

When I was first diagnosed 2 yrs ago, I was scared, but I have learned to bring my numbers down.

Personally, for me, I had a few instances where my levels were very high, and I was told to drink a glass of water with2 tspns of apple vinegar.

In my case, it worked. Within a couple of hours, my levels went down quite a bit.

Because I do not know what meds he is on, I do not know if they would interact with this home remedy. My sister has done this several times, and as I said she is pretty severe, and it works for her.

I am sure, you are careful what he takes, and you are a good mother I am sure, but if you have someone watching him at times, make sure they understand the danger of them allowing him to have any high levels of sugar drinks.

Have a beautiful day with your family, and keep me posted on how he is doing.

Thank you Carla, Yes we love our dear fellow. This is great to hear. Sonny mentioned it below too. So I will go and get some to try with him. But I will check doesn't play havoc with anything else and his meds. Thanks Jen
