The Dreaded IPv6
Hello all!
I realized something terrible awful the other day!
Google has been tracking ME on my website *Dun Dun Duuun*
Not to infer that google was tracking me before. I know all about IP addresses and such.
Here's what happened:
When I first started this website, two months ago, I was using my husbands 7 year old laptop.. Obviously this archaic laptop (That I was very thankful for!) had an IP 4 address, So I learned how to stop google from tracking me..
We've recently been blessed financially and were able to buy a brand new computer! Gosh! Right away I put my new (crazy looking) IPv6 address into google analytics, only to realize two weeks later that I was still being tracked!
As it turns out, IPv6 changes daily *Hangs head in defeat* but oh well! I'll just ignore that hunk of data and change my filter daily!

Hello Doll,
An IP address is something all computers have. It's a unique strand of numbers that identifies each individual computer. IP 4 is what was used until very recently.
IP 4 looks something like this:
8974.3433.3433.
The IP 4 system only works for 4 billion computers, whereas we have around 7 billion people online now! Wow!
This is why they created IPv6 which looks more like this:
2601:149:c000:74f0:a935:1acd:54c1:7bde
IP 6 as it turns out changes EVERY DAY lol.
To know what your IP is, just type "What's my IP address" into google. :)
