Happy and Loving Las Vegas

I've officially escaped North Dakota and moved to this desert place that I swear is in the center of an old crater. Did a meteor hit Las Vegas. Every where I turn, I see mountains.
Anyway... It's fall and the weather is beautiful. It's odd, because we were receiving light snow the week before we left North Dakota. Now, my husband is afraid of getting heat stroke and sunburns.
My son was the least happy of us all to leave. Poor kid, he didn't want to leave behind his friends or familiar environment. After being here a week, I think he's settling in. Everyday, he's outside enjoying the weather. As soon as he gets home, he's asking if he can ride his bike. It's odd, because in the nearly 3 years we lived in North Dakota, I could probably count on one hand the number of times he played outside (not counting school or dropping him off at a friend's house).

I used to think that kids didn't play outside these days. He wasn't the only kid spending most of the time in the house. We rarely saw kids in our neighborhood outside in North Dakota. Now, he's like a real boy! It reminds me of when I was a kid, spending most of my time outside. I love the changes in him.
And the city... I can't believe how much I missed the city. Driving 15 miles on the highway in North Dakota had me thinking, why am I not there yet? What was sad was a 15-mile drive on the highway was only about a 10 minute drive. Now it takes 30 minutes to drive 10 miles and it's not as nearly as frustrating. I'm trying to understand why. It might be that it takes so much more concentration to drive in the Las Vegas traffic than ND traffic. I know if you miss an exit in ND, you're looking at a 10 minute drive to get to the next exit and turn around. Yikes! And don't even think about starting a highway trip when low on gas...
Anyway. I'm sharing my move and letting you know I'm quite content at the moment. Nothing to do with affiliate... just a happy update on life.
