No Wifi? No problem.
Hi there fellow affiliates and hoping you are all having a good Sunday!
I just thought I would share a handy tip with you as I am so grateful for all the fantastic help I regularly receive from you guys. I have also used this several times when travelling and recently when I was moving house and had no internet connection for a couple of weeks.
Did you know you can link your tablet or laptop to your phone to piggy back on your phone's 3G network? Simply connect your phone to your laptop via a USB connection. In the settings/connections menu on your phone find Tethering and Hotspots. Enable Tethering. Your laptop may now connect to the internet via your phone. A hotspot will enable more than one device to connect via WiFi but is less secure so the USB option is preferable.
A word of warning - downloading data via tethering can be expensive if your network package does not allow unlimited data. But if you have a reasonable amount of free data it is possible to view a movie, check your emails and of course catch up with your buddies on Wealthy Affiliate all without access to WiFi!

Yes indeed - always check data charges! But great in an emergency. Hope you are well Mr W.. :-)
Haha! I love it...It is early morning here so not time for beer yet...enjoy it and stay smiling! :-)
Things are fine but sunny it is not. It has been raining yesterday and to day and has turned very cold for Thailand. It won't last long but it's funny to see the Thai people acting like it another ice age.
Good on you for telling this info. I use this method always because I don't have a land line. You can tether without a USB cable too. Most laptops can find your wireless network connection if the phone is within 30 meters . This allows me to move the laptop with out taking the phone too.
Janelle.
Oh, that is brilliant info, Lorna! Didn't know that. What a wonderful share. Can't be disconnected from our WA friends now can we? Thanks for this. :-)
Yep... and I also have a mobile Hotspot with unlimited data that I only pay for when I use it.
Very cleaver. Next time my power goes out. You taught me something new. Thank you, Lorma! Cheers, Bunny

Hi Lorna, certainly an alternative when no internet connection is available, I've used it quite successfully a number of times, but have also had problems that the connection can not be made or it keeps getting interrupted in areas where there is a weak or no signal to your phone, but always worth a try.
True Harry - and not meant as a permanent solution - but may get you out of a pickle when you're stuck! Thanks so much for your comment!
