How I use PicMonkey to brand my content.
This is a great tip! Sign up for PicMonkey, it's free. It's a fantastic tool to edit pictures and use overlays, but I found I can use it to brand colors for my website. You want to keep the same colors consistent with the colors of your background picture or home page picture so using Pic Monkey you can 'grab' the color key number from your picture.
Go to pic monkey and edit a picture. Upload the picture you want to brand. Then click the butterfly image on the left for Overlays. Click on the 'geometric shapes'.
Choose the square and drag it over to your picture. Choose about 4 more or how many colors you want to use for your website. Click on the black square and Color 1 and color 2 will show. Color 2 will be the black color, click on Color 2.
Click on the eyedropper, it will become your cursor. Hover it over any color on your picture. The number key will show. If that is a color you would like to incorporate into your website for branding consistency, cllick it. Now your black square will change to the color you want. Click the square and you will see the color key number. You can copy and paste the number into your square. Then do the same thing for different colors and use up all your squares. Save your picture so you can find the numbers easily when working on your site.
I like to save it to Evernote. :-) Hope this helps!
