Don't be Afraid of Youtube! Get on Camera and Boost Your Business
Starting out: being on camera felt scary → worried about looks, voice, mistakes.
- Truth: YouTube is an amazing tool for getting your message out.
- Reminder: you don’t have to be on camera (voiceovers, slides, screen shares all work).
- BUT—being on camera adds something powerful:
- Builds trust and credibility.
- Puts a face to the words.
- Helps people feel connected to you.
- My experience: I’m not perfect yet, but practice makes it easier.
- Every recording builds comfort.
- Talking about familiar topics = less nerves, more natural flow.
- Tip: Start off-camera if you need to. But don’t shy away forever.
Practice → confidence.
Presence → trust.
Together, that’s what makes your channel stand out.
Cheers,
Lisa Renee

Very inspiring and encouraging. I have yet to do my first You Tube video. I am preparing for it today!
Very inspiring, Lisa
I have been puting off video marketing on YouTube, one day I do hope to get started once I get the nerve
Jeff
I love it! I never thought I would, yet here I am putting out videos every week. Give it shot!
Beautifully done! Bravo! Good job! I agree with every word. I've never made any videos to share here but I've been thinking about it and after watching yours, I think there will be one from me soon. I've made lots of YouTube videos and shorts. I have a long way to go too but I keep doing it. You compared it to public speaking. Once upon a time, I was terrified of that too. Then, I discovered karaoke. Just try to keep me from doing it now. Did I say I'm good? No! But I do enjoy it and it's helped me to get over myself and stay out of my way. The greatest enemy most of us have is the (wo)man in the mirror.

I just made a video and posted it here at WA. I credited you for inspiring me to do it today.

Hello Lisa,
Thank you for your blog post or video post, there is definitely power in video!
I agree with you, I know there are some successful faceless channels, but I think it's good to show your face, as you are doing, Lisa. I also appreciate your wise words, it's good just to practice, as I believe that the more we practice, the easier it gets.
Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
Roy
