Suspended by Google AdSense for just one click

And now WA won't publish this post because it says the conent is not unique. Not sure how to get around this because I definitely haven't posted this anywhere else.

Not having a good day, technology-wise. What I'm trying to post about is this:

Bother. Without thinking, I clicked on a Google AdSense ad on my own site. It was something I was genuinely interested in, an provider of some sort and after I'd clicked it I thought "oh dear, but just one click won't hurt, surely?"

This morning I received notice from AdSense that my account is suspended for 30 days.

The obvious lesson here: think about what you're clicking on your own site!

Hope this warning helps someone else not get banned.

It's annoying because the and I clicked on I had seen on loads of other sites, and I may well make a purchase from them so it was genuine but Google say I can't appeal so that's that. Won't be putting AdSense back on, will stick with media.net for now and once my traffic hits 10,000 a month there are more options. Just broke the 4,000 barrier after 2 months so a little way to go yet!

These platforms are very dehumanizing and believe they are the only ones out there on the web. Sorry for the issue you had and in the customer service side of the program it sticks. glad you moved onto Media net, which is what I am shortly going to do based on research and things I hear happening like this.
Thanks for the post.
Take care,
Bill

Hi Lisa, sorry to hear this happened. My gosh AdSense seems kind of nasty. We all make mistakes, but to suspend you for a month that is totally ridiculous and un-fair.

Michael

That's why I won't get Google AdSense. Jim

Yes, I know what you mean. I've now been accepted by media.net, which is Bing/Yahoo's version of AdSense so have just replaced all my AdSense code with theirs. They pay better too so hey ho, onward and upward!

Thanks for sharing

Hello Lisa and sorry about this happening to you.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and what happened as it will make us all aware for the future.
Wishing you all the best
Darren :)

Happened the same Lisa, and mine was an unintentional click; my finger just slipped on the mouse.
Sadly, there is nothing we can do about it, but the good news is you are not going to lose much money, at this stage. :-)

Yes, it wasn't exactly making me much money so it's not the end of the world, just irritating because the product link I clicked on was one I've seen on lots of other sites and I'm likely to buy from them in the next month. Never mind!

This has been a timely post. Thanks for this post but you paid the cost.

Kalyan.

WOW! If I sign up with Google Adsense, I now know that they will see even just one click. This is a good post for anyone new here. Thanks for the info.

I wish you the best!
