No money, Yet! But.
I wrote a post for the beginner guitarist who wants to learn finger picking on the guitar.
I mention a few instructors from Jamplay and manage to get in touch with
Michael Hawkeye Herman.
I found his website and his phone number.
Made that phone call after contemplating it for a while.
When Hawkeye answered " hello" and I asked is this Hawkeye??
His reply, as friendly as could be, Yes, this Michael Hawkeye Herman.
Right there and then I had to ask him to give me a minute and let me calm down a little and BREATH!!
I introduced myself and explained my reason for contacting him.
My reason for wanting to make contact was to get his permission to mention him and quote some things I got from his video lesson out of Jamplay.
I know I didn't have to do this, but I still want to ask these people for their permission to mention and use what I could from them in my website.
I invited him to look over my post and got his blessing to mention him.
I was also invited, by Hawkeye, to see him in October!!
He gives a small class to 2nd, 4th, 5th, middle and high school students across the country. I get to attend for FREE!!
Excited to see him in concert come October!! I might have to pay here, LOL!!
So I guess what I'm trying to share here is.
Making contact with who you get info from, getting their permission, whether it's public or not, could lead to better followers??
A better lead, mentor, building your website, building your reputation.
I see this as an opportunity to, learn more on the guitar, promote an individual or their product, in this case, Hawkeye's lesson's as well as Hawkeye himself.
I also made contact with musicians from Pinterest and twitter, by way of message or email, that I added to this post and hope to work with them in the future.
I'm looking at all these contacts as a potential post in the very near future and I had FUN meeting new people.
Their support was the greatest feeling from someone I just met!!
My biggest fear is to hear the word NO or just being rudely turned down....so far so good!!
Hope this helps you out.

P.S. Good seeing ya!!
It was not only a good thing but a brave thing to do. Just goes to show you how creative we need to become. Congrats!
Thank you, sir.
Been a while since I've talked to you.
I don't know if I should call you, father, brother, Mr. Pastor, LOL!!

Aiden!!
I am so sorry I didn't reply earlier.
Got lost and forgot this.
Been thinking about ya and your suggestions.
Got a job this week that will take me out of town.
Will try and hook up with you then.

Hey Larry, this is really cool. Even if someone says "no" to you, that's OK, you just keep going. But don't focus on that until it actually happens and if it happens, you simply move on to the next person.
Hey, VanessaN.
Got a few others I'm waiting on.
The anticipation is killing me, LOL!!
Sorry for the late reply and thanks again fo your support.

Great Job Larry! I have done something similar in contacting artists on Etsy to get their permission to promote their items for sale. It has gone so well and given me much more promotion than I could do on my own! It is amazing the confidence I have gotten just by being a member of WA!
Thank you, Mauraw.
I've been thinking about doing some drawing of cats.
Any suggestion on where to start??
I need to bring my drawing skills up to par, LOL!!
Larry
Start with just faces. :) I don't draw realistic things. I am really not a good artist myself!
Most excellent and great advice. I had the pleasure of hanging with Mr. Chubby Checker for a few tour dates and working with him and his entire band/crew recently. Long awesome story I want to write on my personal blog at some point and, hopefully with his permission an interview to go along with it. Great post my friend! I'm so stoked for you!
!!THE Chubby Checker??!?!?
Wow!! Very cool for you!!
Please keep me posted, look forward to seeing that!!
